•DeMontevin lodge - an eclectic mix of the Victorian architectural style
•Orange Bay Railway Station - demonstrates Jamaica/Georgian features.
•Moore Town - today governed by a Colonel, a Maroon given the honorary title earned by his ancestors
•Nanny Town - named after Nanny, the great Maroon leader who brought the Maroons many of their victories during the first Maroon war.

•St. Thomas Parish Church - The east wall of the Church has a brick with the date 1865 baked into it.
•Morant Bay Court House - was the scene of the Morant Bay Rebellion of 1865.
•Fort Lindsay - was extensively repaired in 1790 and was placed on the island's list of forts in 1799.
•Fort William - As early as 1675, Port Morant, in the parish of St. Thomas had a platform with five guns to defend its harbour.
•Morant Bay Fort - probably built in 1758 was designed for nine guns.
•Stokes Hall Great House - In 1907 it was destroyed by earthquake and it now stands in ruin.
•Stokes Hall Great House Development Proposal
•Morant Point Lighthouse - built in 1841, it is the oldest lighthouse in the island.
•Bath Mineral Spa - discovered by a run-a-way slave in the 1690s.
•Stony Gut - birth place of Jamaica's National Hero, Paul Bogle.

•Cherry Garden Great House - The Cherry Garden property was originally a sugar estate.
•Mona Great House - is of Jamaican Georgian architecture with thirteen rooms.
•Jamaica College Buildings - In 1902 a law was passed for the amalgamation of the Jamaica High School and the University College under the name of Jamaica College, by which it is still known.
•Mico College Buildings - established as a result of funds bequeathed by Lady Mico in 1690 to her nephew Samuel, on condition that he marry one of his cousins.
•Shortwood Teachers' College - began operations on September 28, 1885.
•Plumb Point Lighthouse - built in 1853 eleven years after the construction of the Morant point Lighthouse.
•24 Tucker Avenue - former residence of the late Sir Alexander Bustamante.
•Regardless - built by A.D. Scott around 1962. Edna Manley also speaks of life at &quot;Regardless&quot;.
•Bob Marley Museum - former residence of the Hon. Robert Nesta Marley.
•Craighton House - named after its first owner, George Craighton.
•Devon House - a fine example of nineteenth (19th) century domestic architecture in Jamaica.
•Lillian's Restaurant &amp; the Ruins of Three Concrete Silos - stands as a charming bungalow, built around 1912
•New Castle Training Depot - founded in 1841 by Major General Sir William Maynard Gomm.
•Trench Town Culture Yard - one of the many houses which was built by the Central Housing Authority between 1940 &amp; 1949.
•Blue Mountains - Blue Mountain Peak is the highest point in Jamaica at 2255.8metres (7402 feet).
•Cinchona Botanical Garden - Established in 1868, Cinchona is the only garden of its type in the Caribbean.
•Clydesdale National Forest Park - This location was once a coffee works.
•Hollywell National Park - Located in the hills of St. Andrew about four thousand (4000) ft. above sea level.
•Hope Botanical Garden - In 1881, 200 acres of Hope Estate was purchased by the Government to establish an experimental garden.
•Long Mountain - dates back to the 18th Century and was a part of the Mona Estate
•Papine-Mona Aqueduct - a fine example of civil engineering in 18th Century Jamaica.
•St Andrew Parish Church - The St. Andrew Parish Church was founded in 1664 and is one of the oldest churches in the country.

•Buxton - This free village was established by Rev. John Clark
•Clarksonville - named by Rev. John Clark in 1835
•Sturge Town - named after Joseph Sturge, established in 1839
•Bellevue Great House - there are two separate Taino sites on the property.
•Belmont Great House - owned by John Davis during the last century.
•Bromley Great house - made of wood with cut stone foundation, dates from the Eighteenth Century.
•Cardiff Hall Great House - The Blagrove family owned Cardiff Hall from 1655 to 1950
•Liberty Hill Great House - Liberty Hill Plantation was first listed in the Crop Accounts in 1786 as a pimento plantation.
•Mount Plenty Great House - a three storey building. The lower level forms a basement made from cut stone
•Ramble Great House - part of the Ramble Estate, previously known as Finger Post.
•Roaring River Great House - good example of the architectural re-adaptation of classical Georgian into a tropical setting.
•Seville Great House - is symbolic of the English period.
•York Castle Great House - The York Castle High School which now stands on the site was established there in 1874.
•Edinburgh Castle - as the remains indicate, comprised a small rectangular building with two circular loopholed towers at diagonally opposite corners.
•Edinburgh Castle Development Proposal
•32 Market Street - the birthplace of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Jamaica's first National Hero.
•Seville Heritage Park - an ideal spot for picnics, relaxation, and for the adventurous.
•Cave Valley Chimney - probably built in or about 1872 as the plaque on the chimney bears that date.
•Drax Hall Waterwheel - Drax Hall Estate was founded in 1669 by William Drax.

•Savanna-la-mar Court House - built in 1925, located on Great George Street
•Savanna-la-mar Fort - constructed in the middle of the 18th Century at a cost of £16,000
•Salem - born out of the need to relocate the Moravian congregation at New Hope in Westmoreland.
•Manning's High School - In 1711, Thomas Manning, bequeathed a gift of land for the setting up of a free school in the parish of Westmoreland.
•Negril Point Lighthouse - stands 66 feet above ground level and the light is elevated 100 feet above sea level.
•Cast Iron Fountain - resented to the town of Savanna-La-Mar in 1887 by E. J. Sadler
•Seaford Town - After the Abolition of Slavery (Aug. 1, 1834), a European settlement was established by Lord Seaford
•Chebuctoo Great House - Chebuctoo is situated near the small village of Cave on a pimento plantation.

Yes, in those days there was a lot of airlines serving Jamaica, Pan Am of course was the leader in the industry. There were KLM, Luftansa (sp), BOAC, BWIA long before there was Air Jamaica. Most of them left when AJ came into being and when we had a lot of political turmoil with the old bogeyman communism.

interesting... i remember as a child an elderly Indian man... his beard did long all di way to the ground past his feet. he used to dress in his sari style clothing, sit yogi style and smoke ganja all day long. i think he was revered as a high priest.
