So one of the victims of the shooting in Calarado was a survivor in the recent Eaton's Centre shoot up in Toronto.

Jessica Redfield, an aspiring TV sports reporter who blogged about hockey for the sports website Busted Coverage, was one of the people killed in a mass shooting during a midnight showing of the Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises” at a theater in Aurora, Colo., according to multiple reports.

Redfield, whose real name was Jessica Ghawi, tweeted from the Aurora Town Center Century 16 Movie Theaters on Thursday night, shortly before the shooting. Witnesses said a lone gunman entered the theater through an emergency exit and began shooting people, killing 12 and injuring at least 50, according to ABC News. The suspect, 24-year-old James Holmes, was caught by police in the parking of the theater.

Redfield, who relocated to Denver from her home in San Antonio about a year ago, had a brush with death one month earlier. She was in Toronto’s Eaton Centre shopping mall in on June 2 and left the food court moments before a gunman opened fire there,

WASHINGTON—U.S. law enforcement officials say the suspect in Friday’s deadly shooting in a Colorado movie theatre is James Holmes, a 24-year-old white American.

Officials believe Holmes killed a dozen people when he fired into a crowded movie theatre in a Denver suburb. He was wearing a gas mask and set off an unknown gas in the theatre.

The Defence Department says Holmes never served in the Army.

Holmes is in police custody, and the FBI says there is no indication the incident is tied to any terrorist groups.

The federal law enforcement officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.
