jah_yout, I wish I knew...evil? insanity? evil insanity? How do you rationalize?

My mind is unable to comprehend such horrors. To find root cause is to find cure for the problem? Is it not?

Jah, I see this carnage on an everyday basis. It's one thing to read and watch on TV people being shot and children dying from bullets...it's another to be a first responder on the scene and hearing the mothers shreiking in horror as you do CPR on their life less child...33 years in the BCFD and one never gets use to it. That is why it's a pet peeve of mine.

So I wonder if the media will start discussing the need for the problems within the white community to be addressed as a result of this shooting? I ask because it seems every time a black guy shoots up the place the whole black community is painted as dysfunctional.

This sick individual is an exception rather than the rule. Ahem! Maybe you should do the math. More than 250 murders in Chicago in the first 6 months of the year? 10 killed on memorial day weekend?...That's one city...can you say Detroit, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philly?
This happens everyday, year after year.

There is no way that what happened in the Cinema on that fateful night of the movie, was not an act of &quot;terrorism&quot;. The patrons were all ambushed, assaulted with tear gas fumes and many randomlly murdered.. It's not likely that Holmes will be classified as a terrorist, but given time he probably will: - <span style="font-weight: bold">a spade will always be called a spade..</span>

So I don't think that term will ever be applied to Holmes either. Note also that there is no big push to profile people who look like McVeigh or Holmes.

Responding to the tragic shooting in Colorado during an appearance on Fox News Sunday, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said he would oppose gun control efforts that could be used to “restrict our freedoms” and instead suggested arming “responsible” people to combat “sick, demented individuals who want to do harm.”

Johnson also argued that any additional measures to restrict large gun magazines that carry 100 rounds of ammunition — similar to the high-capacity clip that the alleged Colorado shooter employed — would infringe on Americans’ Second Amendment rights:<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">JOHNSON: People will talk about unusually lethal weapons, that could be potentially a discussion you could have. Johnson’s statement was in direct opposition to Sen. It’s the big clips, a hundred rounds. You can’t get to him to dislodge the gun because he can fire so rapidly and has so many bullets.”
Johnson disagreed and argued that the assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004 and banned high-capacity magazines, actually made things worse in the Aurora shooting. “If a responsible individual had been carrying a weapon, maybe, maybe they could have prevented some of those deaths, some of those injuries,” he said.
