Sounds like a disgruntled ex-employee of a company in the area who was let go about a year ago. He returned this morning to get revenge. Shooter was shot and killed by police after an exchange of gunfire.
I'm not in any way in support of this gunman but enough people out there get treated like crap, taken advantage of, bullied and generally treated badly at work each day that it is a wonder this does not happen more often. Especially in this economy.Comment

the shooting took place near the Empire Sate Bldg.
suspect shot dead is Jeffrey Johnson, laid off from Hazan Imports a year ago. He filed suit a year ago against the victim (his ex co-worker) and the victim countersued. The suspect wasn't able to get into the building so he waited outside for the victim to show up and then shot him.
This hood is a couple blocks away from the Garment District, closer to Korea Town, but there are lots of import/export places around. If mi nuh lie there should be a patty shop a block away as well.

My niece works in a garment area business. I talked to her on her job during the day, and she said the body of the shooter was right outside her building.
This is her second narrow escape from danger in that area. on 9/11 she came up from her subway stop in the <span style="font-weight: bold">WORLD TRADE CENTER </span> just as the first plane hit that building. The security guard kept them inside while debris from the plane and building fell. She walked over to her job, then the second plane struck. Her bosses closed for the day; so she actually was headed back to the WTC as the second building collapsed and fell. She walked from 34th St. to 106th St to her sister's apt. I told her it was time to get a new job, cause her good karma is going to run out.

DWL, Mi neva kno dat wan but di wan dung near Kmart sell rotti and hat food tuh.
