This evening, at sundown, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the holiest day of the year for a Jew, begins.
I have already begun prayerful contemplation of this and its awesome meaning. And I already repent of my sins - things done, things left undone; things intentional and unintentional/accidental. I already beg God to forgive me for my faults and sins and shortcomings.
I now humbly ask everyone who knows me to do the same: If I have, in any way offended you, please forgive me. I am so sorry and I do indeed repent! Please forgive me.
Mods: I intentionally didn't put this into F, R, &P because it's not a religious discussion. It's a general announcement. I hope everyone will read it. But there is not going to be any discussion - religious or otherwise in this thread. (at least, not by me) In fact, I"m OK with you locking it. It's just a formalization that is required by the Jewish religion, given that I have participated in this community this year. In previous years, I have participated on J'com but not in Judaism as a practicing Jew. I have gone back to my Jewish roots as a practicing Catholic. This is the first year that I have been on J'com AND been a practicing Jew. hence the necessity for this formal announcement. Thank you for your understanding.
