i remember the FIRST time I came to nyc, to the bronx, and my Aunt dragged me thru the subway cars. I almost had a heart attack

Brooklyn was not my favourite place. and there was no money fi do all the touristy things. the best thing was that at the time mi aunty lived next door to the botanical gardens, and there was a park we used to go there to play or hang out. even when she moved further away, we'd walk there, all the cousins. </div></div>Comment

that looks like quuensboro bridge.. the tram car goes from the island of manhattan to roosevelt island. some people take the tram daily and some take the subway

we took the bus to the subway on our way back to manhattan proper. is there no place the subway doesnt go?
some bridge, don't know the name - forgot what the relatives said.
it had a cable car, but i don't know if it's for tourists. would be so neat if it was some special way to get to the office

this building on stilts looks like it was designed specially to showcase the high line - u can see it in the distance. next trip i'll go along that side of the path.
some fashion, can't remember name of the store. the dress had some miniature pleating to look like flowers, my pic doesnt do it justice.

thanks for tagging along Gen, and for the info about the bridge. yes, my NY aunty says that particular facility on Roosevelt Island is actually the <span style="font-style: italic">poor house</span>, a place for the indigent. i was interested to learn that it was once called by the name we say in jamaica, which is <span style="font-style: italic">almshouse</span>. the person we know in there is suffering from MS and arthritis and basically is bedridden.
