um, i got a mini makeover







the fashion fair girl is from clarendon

so, when dem do di makeover, hear mi madda &quot;<span style="font-style: italic">it shows up your sideburns&quot;</span>. to my horror, i realize that when i got my hair cut on Thursday in TO, the barber, a young guy, gave me like a line up - or whatever you call it when the guy them make a thin line out of them sideburn.

and you know, i had noticed him running the buzzer down the side of my cheeks, and mi joke and seh to him, &quot;u shaving me?&quot; to which he laffed and responded, &quot;strong ooman wear beard&quot; lickle did i know what he was really up to

somewhere round the corner from macy's is the brand new brooklyn stadium jay z open the nite before. the barclays center. would love to experience it at nite.

there was some heavenly smells coming from these food carts as i was taking the pics. but given the eating out debacle of the nite before, i didnt bother trying to convince aunty and mother to try some of the street eats.

on the bus going past the stadium. bus driver sounded trini.


y'all should know i had serious problems understanding the transit fare process in new york. kept inserting the metro card the wrong way. put in a metro card one time that had no money on it. then tried to give three dollar bills for the $2.25 fare. dem dont take bills. betime cousin and i rounded up money from other people, we had reached our stop. paid anyway, then hustled offa de bus in total embarrassment

so i bought a mini pizza from this vendor. it has some sort of soft cheese, pesto and dandelion greens. scrumptious, until i got to the grit. bummer.


i bought a $3 brownie from this vendor. and left it on the train on the way home



hadnt seen celeriac for a while. my mother was taken with it. promised to make a fresh celeriac salad for thanksgiving.

not too far from where I live, once in a while I walk down to the shops, but try to use the bus/train. I am by the river

that is berkley. one of those &quot;for profit&quot; schools

mabye you are thinking of Brearley (all girls K-12 manhattan)

they still have a conway left down there enuh I was in there in july, but all of those little stores will soon be gone. as soon as the yuppy stores like gap etc moved in, it was game over for conways and the little discount stores.

a lot of food places around the stadium are getting evicted by their landlords as well to make room for more mid to upscale places.
