While we are at it...I don't understand why people like President Obama and Alicia Keyes who grew up with White parents with no involvement from the Black father have an African-American accent. Can someone break that down for me?

You seem to be contradicting yourself and applying the one drop rule in reverse.

Actually it was the white people who made the distinction. Garvey was a little off course regarding this mulatto business as his opinions were based on his experience in Jamaica where the light skinned offspring of the slavemaster and their descendants were given a privileged position. In America...one drop rule applied..Black is Black.

I go by one drop rule and don't understand why people are trying to get away from their Blackness. I reject Jamaican notions that Black is something to get away from as soon as possible and the closer to White the better. You seem to be defending that...which is surprising.

Who are you talking about...President Obama? I guess you don't think that Bob Marley was Black either. What about Michael Manley...wasn't he an octoroon...in the US that was legally White at one point.

A high percentage of people in Jamaica have some White blood in them even though it is not visible (e.g. some of the every dark people with Irish names...not even one Irish family owned slaves in Jamaica). Are you going to tell me they are not Black?
