At one time Jones Town, Whitfield Town and Allman Town were Middle Class Areas.

I know...my Mom lived in Jones Town with her Dad when she was a teenager and she said it was a very nice area. She said when they first put in the homes across the way in Trench Town they were nice too...she could look over at them. She also used to go bike riding at Grenwich Farm when it was a farm and very nice.

Somehow though, I don't think our male boardites with the exception of maybe Dr. Dudd are old enough to have lived in those areas at that time...though you never know....we could have a bunch of senior citizen boardites hunched over their keyboards and typing.....




When did those areas go bad? I know that my Mom spoke of Backto....she used to teach at a school that had children from that community.

Mi cousin neva was too into him, even though him treat har nice. Wan day (unknown tuh us) si com home ah claim (tuh har parents) sey di dude feel har up ah church, an mi an mi bredda did present. Well mi aunt call mi an mi bredda an aks if wi did si it? Wi tell har sey, nutten noh goh soh caa wi did deh deh at di specific tim an place, an wi neva si nutten like dat. Memba ah mi cousin, soh mi would deh pan har side if dat did gwaan, or beat di bway behine. Anyhow, mi Aunti sey wi ah tell lie, an shi ah goh ah church goh fine out di truth. Dem goh uppa church goh confront di guy in front ah di Head Father, created wan big bangarang ah church an almost get di guy thrown out fi nutten. Ongle ting saved him, is di priest took mi an mi bredda aside privately, since wi were still Alter-Boys deh, an asked wha happened? Di guy was also well respected at di church an neven been in any kina trouble before. Well, mi Aunt an har husband neva satisfied. Him always goh wid anyting di daughter an wife sey anyway. Di daughter can duh noh wrang fi dem. Well, das pretty much wen living hell started fi mi an mi bredda, it was pretty much dung hill afta dat! Every chance di gal get shi came up wid more lies pan di two ah wi. Soh mi Aunt started writing wi puppa bout how bad wi is. Wi had tuh write him pan di quite an tell him wha ah gwaan, caa him could hardly believe wha him ah hear. Di saving grace was dat him knew dat him Niece had problems wid di truth from shi was ah kikkle kid (wid di nuturing of har parents).
By di way, di daughter went tuh Immaculate Conception.

What motivated your cousin to tell such a serious lie about the guy? Are you on good terms with her today? Did she ever admit lying?

Tropi, no one has been able to figure that puzzle out to this day. No shi neva admitted it. The relatived been trying to figure her out for years. Everytime they say let bye-gones, be bye-gones, she flips like ah snake and nails them, causing them to regret even trying. She was very smart young lady, educationally, and could have gone on to better things, but dashed it all away.

She went on to tell lies on several more of our relatives including uncles, aunts, and grandfather, had a few babies out of wedlock wid som guy whu did not suppurt her, and eventually became a perriah. We found out my Aunt died, after the fact. My dat tried to keep in touch an re-connect with my aunt, even wanted to sponser them up to the USA, but Aunt said she wanted nothing to do with us (dad still sent funds through a close friend). After a few years, Dad got word through relatives that her father died an the body was in the house for days because she (his daughter) could not afford to bury him, so he wired the funds down via a close friend to take care of it. She never even said thanks. The sad thing is, when we were much smaller i use to love to go visit that Aunt (she was my fovarite), but my cousin as she grew was on a mission to destroy the relationships that her mother had and built over decades, even thouth she loved her mom very much, and her Mom and her father gave her everything possible and would die for her trying.

I guess it is true what they say, some people are just born evil.

No I wouldn't say born evil but definitely she has deep seated issues and required and still requires therapy. Her parents refused to recognize and do anything about the problem. Perhaps they did not know the signs to look for and she got worse with the passing of time. Very sad.

I had a cousin like that. She told my Granny I looked over the gully when the boys were racing Board Horse. I got punished.
Also a girl who liked me at Sunday School (she was too grown for her age, loud and obnoxious....LOL her name was Donna....wonder where the hell she is now?). Anyway, I found a bird that fell out of the nest, she raced home to tell my grandmother I stole her bird and I got a whipping.
