27 pages of instructions and there was no guidance? Really? It took almost 30 minutes to read the instructions to the jury!
They did not even take the fact that Zimmerman got out of the car, followed Trayvon...they only focused on those seconds before the shots went off and whether or not George Zimmerman feared for his life in those seconds.

This juror simple soh til. When she a claim seh she sad, Anderson ask har what are you sad about? The first thing she said was that she's sad for "GEORGE" and everything he's going through (or sitten to that effect)...she never said she was sad for Trayvon or his family until Anderson asked her "do you feel sad for Trayvon"....
This whole case was just outrageous from start to finish and yes, injustice has been going on for centuries, but hopefully this is an eye opener for those who were not paying attention to the shytstem.

Just looking at this board alone, I have posted enough about racial issues to draw NUFF flack from people in denial. This isn't even a fraction of what I have done IRL. If I had $1 for ever diversity workshop I have conducted without compensation, I would be filthy rich and able to afford polo ponies, a Ferrari and a big house.
As for being consumed with TV, I have hardly had it on. I watched some videos on-line during the trial...TV didn't go on until the night the verdict was expected and I have had it on a couple of nights since.
The way I see it is this.....if this case has helped a few of the Black people in denial wake up and smell the coffee, then it's about time. Folks have got to realize that if they don't speak up and take a stand when another Black child fails to get justice, they can't count on anyone being there for them if their child ever faces a similar situation. I don't see it as a bad thing that this has been a rude awakening for many.

That makes sense. I didn't watch the interview, but a murder conviction was a looooong stretch. How can anyone prove that GZ got out of the car with intent to kill? He got out of the car because he was a gun toting idiot trying to show his power and authority to a kid on the street.
Manslaughter and aggravated assault should have been the charges. The jail time could be significantly less on these charges, this would have been his first offence he would have spent very little time in jail. But at least he would have been convicted.
How many times do we see people on TV bawling because the person that killed their loved was given 5 or 10 years in jail. And with good behavior could get out in 2.5 or 5 years, add in time served while waiting for trial and the person could be out in 18 - 24 months. It happens all the time, and something like that is what IMO should have happened to GZ. Jail time for these lesser offences is significantly less, but at least the person has a conviction and that be with them til they die.
It can't bring back the dead person, but it certainly is better than having the person walk out of the courtroom a free man.

Part 2 of interview with above Juror B37 was tonight, same time as last night, and repeated as well.
the other jurors (4 of them I believe) also released a statement asking (again) for privacy BUT also pointing out that the opinions of the above Juror B37 was her own.
I'll ask again, is there no grounds for judicial review. Clearly this jury did not have a CLUE what they were doing.

This jury - like every jury in the United States of America - got instructions, the same sort of instructions that our law dictates any judge gives to any jury BOTH lawyers see to that even if a judge is somehow even slightly remiss... or even just considered so. Now, whether or not the people who comprised this jury had enough education and/or common sense to comprehend their instructions and/or to follow them correctly... <shrug> Who can say? That's always a possibility. It's up to the attorneys on both sides to see that they select jurors (during the juror selection process) capable of such comprehension before the trial starts. This is how our judicial system works: every judge gives proper instructions to every jury.

In an exclusive interview with MyFoxOrlando.com, Juror E54, who was one of four alternate jurors in the case, says he felt the injuries Zimmerman sustained during the altercation were the most convincing piece of evidence in the trial. He also said he believed it was Zimmerman who was screaming for help in a 911 call played during the trial, not Martin. Jurpr E54, who asked that his name not be released and his face be obscured during the interview, also tells the station he relied on the testimony from the witnesses who heard Zimmerman and Martin fighting the night of the shooting. "I call them 'ear-witnesses,' the ones who heard the noises and which way the noises were going. They helped me fill the gap," he said. The alternate juror is speaking out after four of the six female jurors in the case distanced themselves from statements one of the other jurors made in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper. "The opinions of Juror B37, expressed on the Anderson Cooper show were her own, and not in any way representative of the jurors listed below," said the statement, signed by Jurors B51, B76, E6 and E40. The six-sentence statement did not specify what parts of the other juror's comments they disagreed with. Juror B37 told Cooper she believed the actions of Zimmerman and 17-year-old Trayvon Martin both led to the teenager's fatal shooting last year, but that Zimmerman didn't actually break the law. Florida manslaughter is tougher than a lot of states and take note that... Parole in FL has been abolished for all crimes since 1983. So unless I'm reading this wrong, whatever sentence he received he would have to serve a total minimum...and I also read that a judge HAS TO GIVE A MINIMUM SENTENCE OF 9 1/2 years for manslaughter conviction.
Maximum of 15 years in prison; maximum of 30 years in prison if a firearm is used
Aggravated manslaughter of a child
Maximum of 30 years in prison; maximum could be enhanced to life in prison if a firearm is used
Third degree murder
Maximum of 15 years in prison; maximum of 30 years in prison if a firearm is used plus a mandatory minimum of 25 years

Prosecution should have focused some time on this instead of just including it as an after thought.
