It doesn't matter if anybody want to call me *******, oyuimbo, honky, chinaman, dreadie, blackman, yellowman. It really doesn't matter. I will not stoop to that level because if it makes one feel better calling people names, have at it. I can just as easily ignore the post, just like I ignore people in real life. The board owner is looking out for himself and the general population of the board, not just me, and not just you. We are guests on this board, whether we like that moniker of guests or not. To have a visitor, Jamaican or otherwise, come to the board and all they see is a bunch of bickering, detracts from the board overall. All you people talking about respect...What about the respecting the board owner and respecting the rest of the board population too, even if them not Jamaican? See, it works both ways.

BTW, discussions of race doesn't scare me away, but as stated above, bickering (keyword) detracts from the board. Call it drama if one wishes. It is also easy to criticize, but not so easy to step up to the plate and volunteer for a position and act accordingly. Look at some of the people complaining in Jamaica how government do dis and how government do dat. What have they personally done to change it, except gripe? If you have a different name for the 'War Room' suggest it in a respectful manner to the Supermod (instead of griping and criticizing) and he may grant your wish. I really could care less if the name is changed to something else, since I do not have any ownership in the board. I offered my suggestion in a respectful manner with a solution and it was granted. Cause from what I gather from the other thread, that techie guy (I think it's a guy) made the suggestion that a forum should be made where folk could come and post whaddeva and those with a more sensitive disposition, would know, because of the forum, that upon entering, their sensitivities could be...ruffled...

Back in the old days, that nickname was not a problem, but just try that in today's society and see the effect especially when alcohol is involved. This goes right back to the 'sensitivity' issue that some users so strongly refer to. Is being careful with our words so really 'out of line' as one person so eloquently posted? Again, it works both ways. To me the name blackie means nothing, because it was a nickname, but to others around me, it can be a problem. Just like we can't mention b*mb in many instances. Heck, kids nowadays can't even play cowboys and indians because somebody will get offended over 'violence.' They might even get offended over the name Indians instead of native people. In the old days, we also used to say, look pon dat deh old neyga ova deh. In many places we can't do that anymore. That was a perfectly acceptable term then too.

You've been asked to suggest a name, you've declined. So what's a person to do? If they were to wait on you, the forum would be nameless...
