Well I didn't grow up in Jamaica so I am a student of Jamaican patois not an expert. So I consulted an expert....my Mom without making ANY reference to the board. I just read her the sentence without indicating where I got it from and got her reaction. Remember I thought she and mi auntie were wrong when they used nain.

Okay you think it was a typo and it was supposed to be:

yuh a gwaan like yuh ain never eena de cass -cass a whine up yuhself wid dem

Okay, last time we proved that nain was a bonafide patois word:

as a nuff people came on here and said they were familiar with it and had heard their people in deep country use it.

We concluded that there was no comprehensive lexicon or dictionary of Jamaican patois so we would have to verify patois by the same method in future.

So who has heard of "wain" and what does it mean.

If I am to boost my patois from advanced intermediate to intermediate, I must be taught properly by professionals with a DEEP knowledge of patois.

So now we are going to see a big war over a word use by a Jamaican and the tool to be relied upon to fight this war is the Pattois Dictionary. What is interesting is the person who is at the head of this current strife, claim not to have been raised in Jamaica and is now some kind of expert in Jamaican Patois?

The are at least 14 distinct Patois dialects, not to mention Rasta Speak, plus Maroon. I am guessing this so-called Patois Dictionary is that extensive?.

my spelling may be incorrect but they are usually used followed by deh

And this is Y i dont like tge Louise Bennet eeffect.....she didnt sound like the patwa I spoke... and she admitted that she was not a natural patwa speaker she copied market women...My issue is her urban experience and interpretation.. I feel that in her way of preserving she homogonesied and macdonalised patea.. and also beleive rasta speak has cut the vocabulary... but then I never learnt patwa from Ring ding....or saw Ring ding on television...

Again this is what that Lady Cooper at UWI is doing in her attempt to formalise patwa in a language...

I thinlk that Nain comes from Doric...

In scotland they use both Bain and Nain in sentences..
