The WWII memorial is operated by the national parks service. Even though it is open access park, the national parks service has had people there 24hrs a day to make sure it is a safe place to visit. If the national parks service is not there to ensure it is a safe place to visit, it gets shut down.

Nonsense, I did not see anyone from the park service at the memorial when I was there. I did see DC police patrolling in their vehicles and riding by the park. Again, you are being lied to. The park may fall under the jurisdiction of the national park service, but there is nothing there that would make it unsafe, except maybe some DC resident drug addicts and thugs. AND! National Park Service calls local police or DC PARK POLICE (not affiliated with the National Park Service)when incidents get out of hand. The National Park Service people are rangers that you see in ALL NATIONAL PARKS ACROSS THE US such as Yellowstone National Park , Ft McHenry National Park and Monument in Baltimore etc.

Shutting down the the WW 2 Memorial is the equivalent of shutting down a parking lot. Things of this nature are only closed when they need maintenance.

I don't think the Tea Party likes the COMPLEXION of the healthcare law so it matters not that the administration was elected and then reelected in order to implement it. Apparently the Tea Party members are the only ones that know what is best for America.

GET YOU STARTED?!? I've been furloughed for the last couple of years by Baltimore City, so YOU ARE NOT WITHOUT COMPANY...I know you did not see that coming...Imagine that? Firefighters furloughed...
