Here is the deal....when Jamaicans first started to come to the US and Canada they were more racially conscious and less tolerant of racism. You will in fact find many of Caribbean heritage as leaders in African American movements.

I am not sure when this changed. By the time I went to university, it was the reverse. I remember African Americans on campus complaining about Blacks from the Caribbean thinking they were better than them and refusing to associate with them.

I find those who are raised in Jamaica are now more in denial about racism, less likely to think of themselves as "black" and more tolerant of sell-out behaviour. That is why when racism lick some a dem. Mi jus'
