Samchabs my take is that you can tell the difference between those on here who were socialised in Jamaica, grew up lived, went to school till they left teenage years and worked there (Evan, MGEE Tuffy, RichD,), and those who simply born in Jamaica but were taken out of the country...Personally I think those who finished high school actually taught West Indian history....not yanki or Kanadian history... thus dont see the world from the narrow yanki obbession.....

From my ancedotal perspective those who were sociliased in Jamaica are more empathetic, have a more cosmopolitan outlook more tolerant, more aware of subtlety, and we would fit back easier into a west african milie, these are essentially Jamaican primarily ad yanki secondary....Those socialised in yanki dom are yankis primarily and Jamaican secondary...

and yes it is tiring... I like to point out that Malcolm X made the identical comment that people engaged with him simply on the issue of race....
