Have you seen <span style="font-weight: bold">The Avengers</span>? That was excellent. Funny and action-packed. Much better than the last installment in the Batman series...

no havent seen avengers, will look out for it. DKR is not a perfect movie, but it had some memorable performances and scenes. Anne Hathaway was a pleasant surprise. the scene between Alfred and Wayne had an outstanding performance by Michael Caine. There was no music in that scene, none needed as the acting alone packed emotional power.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Expendables 2</span> &amp; 1/2 I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The first 10 or so minutes was excruciating in its mindlessness. They were just blowing up and shooting up and beating up for the hell of it it seemed. I actually started sorting the contents of my purse - I was <span style="font-style: italic">that</span> interested in the flick...

But then the Bruce Willis character showed up and the direction of the movie changed.

Now it's the same ol same ol - they have to go into no-man's land and retrieve some shyte before it falls into enemy hands and they've got to take a girl with them who must not be harmed in anyway. Not exactly rewriting the book on plot lines, but some how the energy of movie began to improve. Yes, they still blew up stuff, and shot everybody and kicked and karate chopped the ones that just happened to still be standing after all that, but I found that the dynamics between the 'expendables' were very good!

Statham and Stallone have great chemistry. Crews is funny and seems to draw that out of others who may not naturally be funny. They even threw in a Chuck Norris joke.

The dialogue was trite but I think it was deliberately so as they were not trying revamp Henry VIII. Lots of obscure references (at least to those not in the know i.e. younger generation) to the individual stars' past rolls. Those were quite funny.

I was quite surprised that I enjoyed it - it was much better than the first effort, but I am not sure I'd volunteer to sit through a third installment. More than anything this is a guy's film. Which is prolly why David thought the first bit where they were blowing [censored] up 'awesome'...

<span style="font-weight: bold">Celeste and Jesse Forever</span> enjoyed it too. Independent film by Rashida Jones, Quincy Jones daughter that in parks and recreation. Its a 'romantic' comedy about a break up the person I was with thought it depressing, but i liked it.

I'm going to see Sparkle. I think the only reason is because Whitney is in it. I'm curious. Did you like the original?

Anyway a just one friend invite me to di movies and then got all depressed on me, it was not a date, let me repeat not a date, anyway him ask if nuh happy movies not playing this weekend cause I also saw Beast of the Southern Wild with him and so now my reputation is that I pick depressing movies....it's not a date!
