Yes, Kia, if McGraw Hill and other textbook publishers get on board, the iPad could make serious in-roads with schools and universities.

One thing that commentators have been speculating about is the back-lighting and possible glare on the iPad. As you know, the Kindle is ideally suited for reading in well-lit conditions.

Well it have the ability to reproduce books in <span style="color: #FF0000">colour </span>. Unless Kindle swiftly upgrade to colour, they will become an expensive door stop in short order at the expense of the Ipad..

I still read &quot;books&quot;. I take them to the beach and rest them on the sand. I drop them and they don't break and I buy them for 50 cents at my local Goodwill store.

eBook Reader

I'm cheap AND limp-wristed, so I recently bought a Cybook Opus.

<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Pros</span>
- Works with just about all eBook formats except the proprietary Kindle and iTunes ones
- Extremely small &amp; lightweight (unlike the iPad); lighter than most paperbacks
- Storage can be extended with a 4 GO SD card
- Cheap

<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Cons</span> (which aren't that important to me)
- No wireless downloading
- No audio books

</div></div>I hear you, Milo, but I had resorted to limiting my reading to books of 300pp or less, because anything bigger is too heavy to carry about when walking or in public transport. I'll just put my little eReader into a ziplock bag to protect it from water &amp; sand.

You can borrow eBooks and audio ones from you library if they have them. I checked out a couple online and dl'ed them to the reader. So convenient.
