Worried Sick about this transition

The last few days my migraines have been kicking my tail and I truly think it is because since Wendy2 started school it has been misery for me and her dad. I don;t know if we made the right decision to put her into the public school system. It has been a NIGHTMARE and it has not been a month yet.

The summary of problems:
1. She did not get lunch for the first week. Did not find out until we started asking her what she was eating only for her to tell us she was eating her snacks all week. I wanted to cry

2. School bus kept with leaving without her or driving off with her when she was suppose to get off . This went on for 2 weeks

3. Has lost a sweater and a jacket already. They are nowhere to be found. teacher has no clue.

4. Now she has been introduced to THREE teachers and her new teacher is NOT impressive. I feel like crying

5. Bathroom facilities unsanitary

6. Seems there is no hand holding or care for Kindergartners.

I bawled one night to how sick I was at this whole mess Her Dad keeps telling me to hang on ..it will get better and jah know mi noh know if mi can tek anymore a dis. Yessiday was aneda heart break again cause she had nothing for lunch and her teacher told her she could not have her snack because the bus was ready.

We went to Back to school night and begged and pleaded with the teacher and Admins that they have to do better and still hearing dis sh#t! again yessiday. I woke up again with migraines that are just relentless. My mind is not at ease and I feel so dam awful to have put my child in this wretched school.

When I ask her questions and I get upset .. she starts crying an that gets me even more upset because she thinks she is in trouble.

We have to be the ones to step in an argue for her welfare.. which 5 year is going to complain that bathroom is nasty... that no one ensured she had lunch all dam week

you need to control your emotions in front of her...if she think you are getting upset she will not tell you anything... children are adaptive..think back to your early school days and the conditions. she will be fine.
the bus issues will be sorted out...she will not starve if she only has snacks...she will be fine.

can parents assist in classrooms at that school? mi wuda tek a day or two off and see if mi can set some expectations widdout being too overbearing of course.

sumpn muss wrong if dem have lunch time and she end up not eating. she know where to go get lunch, which line to join etc? is it that someone need to load har lunch account? what exactly causing her to miss lunch?

as fi di bathroom sound like u gwine haffi mek up noise a PTA or maybe u standards too high? how bad is it really? mi memba primary school bathroom a yard and jah know mi nuh know how we survive widdout ketch all kinds a stuff. and even high school never that great.

seems like u have the option of private school ....call around and see if u can find one that can fit u budget that will admit her late?

She has a lunch account that is paid up 3 monts in advance. She picks up somethin ..dont like it and dem run har when shi come back for soemthing else. When di dyam account have money where she can goh get someting else fi eat. So shi en nat eating anyting for lunch. Spoke to the cafeteria manager and shi a seh shi neva realize seh shi wanted us to tek di extra lunch outta di account. What kina fawt is dat?!

Tell me if Pee on the dam seats is high standards.

It too late right now and the tuition we checked into was ridiculously high with that and aftercare. But if mi have to tun prostitute, I doan tink dis is what mi want fi har at all. It is killing me

you can be emotional but don't show it to the child.

yu want dem to force feed her? what happen if she nuh want to eat?

years to come you will be packing lunch and si it come back unopened same way.

as for pee on the seats dem should address that ...but meantime teach her to tek a wad of TP and wipe the seat before she use it.

Lunch
Can you go online and look at the lunch menu choices. Then you and Wendilina can figure out what she does or does not eat and suggest to her to choose. It is school policy (I think) of u go through 1x

An alternative is to just have her bring in her lunch a few times a week and then choose from the lunch menu on some days.. If she is kindergarten age, she will be picky and it may be easier on you (and her) to just eat.


Bathroom
I would send an email to the office about the state of the bathroom and they will contact the custodian. When did u see the bathroom dirty? on back to school night? Also none of the kids are touching the toilet so the pee may be the oops off the aim. Reinforce the need for her to not touch and use good aim (if you sprinkle while you tinkle please be neat and wipe the seat)


Lost clothes

Ask where the lost &amp; found is for the bus AND in school. It is there.

Also what RichD said about lunches coming back uneaten yes it will happen

Since it is kindergarten , how about considering a private kindergarten and then transition her to public school for grade 1?

((Wendy)) mi know mi wuda emotional too eff it was mi first born and a di fus smi haffi deal wid dis. but it sounds like there are solutions.

1. di cafeteria ting sort out it seems. dem will charge har di extra now dat u mek dem aware. she will get har groove and figure out what she like.

2. teach har how fi wipe off di seat or hover over it. and mek sure she learn fi wash har hands good.

she will survive

if she was stressed she would be showing it..she would complain that she dot like the place ...that she don't want to go back.....maybe tell you she not feelign well in the morning....not sleeping well.....acting up at home......kids cant hide that kind of stress. if that is the case you have issues...if she is happy and eager to go each day then the other things are minor and will work out.
