This thread was an off-shoot of my Saudi Arabi thread. I just transferred the questions that were being asked down here so that my Saudi Arabia thread did not get mashed up. I wasn't the one asking the questions. Remember that. BTW, I was criticized for finding an Egytian man and a Japanese man attractive. Also for saying that some of the Arab guys (some of African heritage) are hot. Remember that.

(The above happened to a freind of mine.. a bus driver.... 18 months leter after having a 2 inch section of his leg removed he was back at work as an inspector....He is not exceptional.. having been dumped by his first wife for not being ambitious enough!!!! He was a great bus driver!)

Now for me two bottles of wine a day is normal.... I have been told that is excessive....

You know I know too many Jamaicans black men who work long and hard.... who earn little to be degrade by this....

The sad thing is that given a choice too many women are swayed by the insubstainable glamour and mistake gesture for substance.. Their parameters of choice are wrong.. they made a mistake.... And see ratehr than to accept the responsibility for their own bad choices they have to blame someone else.....

.. Rich D I know, Derk, Newtral I have spoken to.. These three are black men ....good black men. Not exceptional.. not spectacular...(When compared to yours truly all men are less than spectacular... I am after all Taino!). Smart funny commited family oriented . I would share a beer or six with them given a chance, my stardard of what friendship is....Does this mean that these guys are exceptional ? Hell no.. So to reduce them all with floatsal of ones personal disappointment is imho disingeneous.. And is in the spirit of &quot;you are different you are not like other black men&quot;..

On aninteresting asside.. having spent time in the middle east... I note with wry homour of how wonderfull all these middle eastern men are.. interesting that those you met and flirted with are not married....nothing like my many aquantiances across the region who are and when they meet &quot;kafir&quot; .. (used in the islamic sense not the south african)suddenly claim to be single.. nothing like the thousand who stream across the causeway into Bahrain.....

Re your last sentence, true enough, and since we acknowledge that much, why do we take issue with people who choose to do it differently? Finding a good person is hard enough without limiting ourselves to race, but if someone finds the love of their life who happen to be of a different shade, what's the big deal? Isn't it ironic that we teach our children that all men are created equal, but in matters of the heart, some impose these artifical barriers?

Been there, done that...it was too much work and WAY too much stres. Must have the honour AND the liveable wage. Do you think it was fun to <span style="font-weight: bold">HAVE </span>to go back to work when my kid was only 4 1/2 months old. Do you think it was fun to have to stick at stressful and demanding jobs and not have the option of quitting because HE wasn't earning enough? And yes, he was Black <span style="font-weight: bold">and</span> Jamaican.

For the record, we weren't specifically talking Jamaican. I was merely outlining the requirements for a man of quality. Men of all races and ethnicities screw around and don't play innocent. There are a lot of Jamaican men who screw around....I didn't say all and I didn't say most.

Really, I don't know too many men from ANY race who have 3 jobs. Mi noh know too many women other than blondes married to rich men who have the luxury of sitting at home playing tennis, drinking tea, going to the country club, and reading COSMO. Most of the women I know have to work out of neccesity and they come home exhausted and are expected to do child care and houework while the man has his &quot;down time&quot;. Again, this applies to men of all races and ethnicities not just Jamaicans.

Not sure how this relates to the discussion. Please clarify. Speaking of bad choices I have learned from my mistakes and will NEVER again hook up with someone without enough earning power.

No one every said that all or most Black men are deadbeats. However, a lot of the really good quality men are snapped up and snapped up early. I did not have the good fortune to be around a lot of Black men at that stage of life when the snapping up early was going on. My bad luck.

That game is played by men all over the world...the suddenly not married yet there is a ring on the finger....this one wasn't married....nothing wrong with flirting with a hot single man....is not like mi did rooks him off or anything. For the record...some of those men from Bahrain are incredibly hot too. Incredibly hot however the ones I have met are all married.

Because this is the real world. I have not been judged on the basis of character and my mind and I have too bloody hard and put up with way too much crap to let the fruits of MY labour go to some White woman. When White men stop refusing to date Black women, I will happily tell my son that the playing field is level and that he should not restrict his choices. As it stands, there are PLENTY of Black young ladies on Canadian and US campuses who will have no hope of finding a partner so he has more than enough women of quality from which to choose in his own race. If more Black mothers would have this conversations with their sons, there wouldn't be so many Black women wihout partners. Black women have the lowest rates of marriage in the USA, Canada and the UK.....that is nothing short of pathetic from where I sit.

Because this is the real world. OK, so that is YOUR point of view and if you're comfortable with that stance, then more power to you. But why make it seem that anybody else who decides to do otherwise is doing something wrong? You cannot make white men (or any other race for that matter) date black women anymore than once you son reaches 18, you can make him follow your advice instead of his heart. If the number of interracial &quot;couples&quot; I see in the downtown core is any indication of where we're headed, this generation seem to totally ignore race. White men (and men of other races) ARE dating black women, so the notion that black women are wasting away waiting for black men is specious at best.

Well, it is as if there aren't men and women of quality in other races too, and why in God's name would anyone want to date someone (male of female) shallow enough to not be able to see past color? Sheesh...enough already.
