Well this one is 11 pages and counting. The threads I start are typically long ones so there is not trouble with progressing I will not tolerate rude, nasty and out of order people on or off the board. What was said was nasty, unprovoked and totaly uncalled for. When people show their true colours, I make sure they don't have an opportunity to do it again. What would you rather I do, insult them back? I am more than capable of holding my own in any battle but there is no point. Why stoop to their level?

I have never set ANY restrictions based on race. A person is a person and there are good and evil in every race.

What I just can't understand is why Black men are flocking to the same White women who have betrayed them in the past. It makes NO sense to me. If the women lied and did not stand by them when they were castrated, <span style="font-weight: bold">in some cases forced to eat their own genitals, </span> burned and then lynched by a mob, then how can you trust them now. The fact of the matter you chose a black man as a partner...unless of course your parents placed a restriction on you as you have on your son... yet that relationship failed demonstrating the idiosy of restricting parnter selection based on ethnicity... (odd that yet all of mine are Taino!)

i wonder since you have been without a long term parnter for a longer than you were married , does this not suggest failure at succesful parnter selection ? in otehr words does this not mean your parameters are all scewered....?

Do you honestly expect ever to find a long term cohabiting (married if you prefer) relationship with a man ?

Have you ever stopped to wonder if the men who fit into the mold of which you require may find the parameters that you offer singularly unappealing ????

Keep ignoring them Tropicana. Don't even bother to share your knowledge with them because they just don't get it. They are just cowards who have nothing better to do than to follow you around the board with their toothless grins and shrivelled, floppy behinds, trying to be funny. They come across as desperate old fogies grovelling for attention and cyber friends to laugh with them but little do they know is that they are the joke.

Excuse me I don't think that people would usually get &quot;involved&quot; with or comtemplate gettng involved with someone they didn't find attractive. What concerns me is that the Western definition of what's &quot;attractive&quot; is VERY narrow and increasingly so with the passage of time.

I agree and have stated clearly. Income level, education and degree of career achievement are not barometres of character. I would like both at this stage of my life, someone with good earning power AND character. You have a problem with that. In terms of white collar vs. blue collar, I am more likely to be compatible with a white collar guy. Just because I am not compatible with someone does not mean they are of bad character. It takes character, compatibility and <span style="font-weight: bold">chemistry</span> to make a relationship work.

Absolutely. I chose from what was available to me in a racist society. My mistake was settling for someone with limited earning power and ambition. This is not just about my mistake. I have also observed many other Black women make the same mistake. So, you ar3 wrong when you say this is simply and soley based on my own failure as you put it. Fantastic, mistake discovered, I have learned from it, and corrected but you're not happy with that. I guess you would prefer that I work like a dog each and every day of my life whiel someone freeloads off me.

Fact, I did not say most, all or even many Black men. I said some and I stand by that. If you are going to tell me that there aren't some Black men who are deadbeats and freeloaders who screw around on their partners, I am going to tell you point blank that YOU are the one being dishonest. It happens with men of ALL races and ethnicities and yes it happens in the Black Jamaican community.

I chose from what was AVAILABLE to me at the time. My parents did not place any restrictions on me. There are FAR more Black women than Black men in North America PERIOD. You read the stats. You also read the stats that indicated that Black women are outstripping Black men in terms of educational achievement. FACT!! My son will have no problem finding numerous Black women of character and education when he is ready to select a wife. If I had a daughter and thank God I don't based on the way of the world, she would be hard pressed to find a suitable partner given current demographics.

Nope, not at all. Better to hold out for the right person. Why repeat the same mistake and go through a second or third divorce as some women have done.

Absolutely but it has been clear for a long time that I will have to leave where I am now living to do it. The GTA is not fertile marriage ground for educated Black women. I was not in a position to relocate and separate my son from his father. Now that he is going off to university, I can relocate or at least spend a good portion of my time overseas and eventually relocate.

Boy you love to make assumptions (see bolding). Most of the Black men I know who fit what I am looking for are already married. Most of the White men who fit what I am looking for won't date Black women period! I have dated men from a variety of backgrounds but sometimes, while they look good on the surface, they end up having some character issues. So it is not that they find what I have to offer unappealing, I am usually the one to end it and move on when I discover some character flaw. I would think that this would be considered a STRENGTH not a weakness. Don't make assumptions.

I guess that you would prefer that I settle and join the miserable and married or multiple divorce crowd. The next time I marry, it is for keeps.
