Every now and again this thread pops up on the board as a result of some woman who got their [censored] verbally kicked in some other thread.
Anyway its like this,bottom line is that the kind of guy who doesnt argue is usually the kind of guy that will bax up or fiss dung a ooman as soon as she opens her mouth to disrespects him....that seems to be the kind of guy that jamaican women on this board respects,..the kind of guy that talks with his fist,..or in some cases his knife.
Lets cut the bullshine here,the majority of jamaican men will
cuss yu out rotten,...and if it gets to a point where they dont feel like arguing anymore you`re likely to feel the wrong end of a backhander or a kick dung,..or a bullit in some cases.
The kind of jamaican man that will walk away from a woman cussing him out is the kind of jamaican man that most jamaican woman will diss,..and diss...and diss.
The irony of it is that the same women who will call a man "mama man* and all the other backayard names that doesnt mean anything except to them, are the very same women that would resent a man that they can manipulate,one who is compliant,doesnt argue,..yes darling ,no darling,..three bags full darling.
Jamaican women you all need to move on,...times have changed,stop living in the past,.......do you want a man that will challenge you verbally or one that will kick yu dung physically.
Lets face it now,....saying a man shouldnt cuss is simply pure ignorance,...in the absence of being able to bax dung a few of you ignorant harpies on here cussing the hell out of you is the only viable alternative.Comment

Newtral, while there are men who fit the two scenerios you described, that is not the norm among Jamaican men. Perhaps I shouldn't use the men in my family or those who I've had close relationships with but honestly they are the examples that I have to use.
There are many Jamaican men who respects themselves and their women. I have never heard my step-dad raise his voice at my mother. Never heard him curse or said a swear word. Same with my brother. He has never raised his voice at us or curse us out like a market woman. I have had long friendships or relationships with Jamaican men and even though I can be a pain in the nether regions, with the exception of one, they never cussed me out.
I know of many relationships/marriages where the Jamaican men are very respect of their women/wives. No cussing and no licking down, or pulling of knives, guns, etc.
I find though when the above comes into play is when the men are emotionally weak or uneducated or lack self-esteem/self-respect or all mentioned. The cussing, knife pulling, gun drawing behaviour is then not just limited to Jamaican men.
A strong self-respecting man does not need to resort to degrading a women to make himself look better. He can get his point across without the cussing or the baxing down. He leaves that sort of behaviour to the ignorant jail birds.

Mi agree 100%, BUT buoy sometimes a man just want fi silence dah sintink call mouth. And in an attempt fi rip out di voice box chroo di mouth di lip dem get caught in di middle.
So, as a strong self-respecting man, I would get real, real close to the woman, and in a soft quiet low whisper - seh ***I have heard enough and I'm not going to tolerate your verbal abusive behavour anymore for today. Please stop talking or I cannot promise you that I can contol the demon inside of me that is screaming inside to physically shut you up***Comment

Kingy, I don't know that. With the exception of one man, I am not personally familiar with them.
The loudest man I ever came across with the exception of the one Jamaican, was an <span style="font-weight: bold">American</span>. A white woman told me I was crazy to end the relationship with him just because of the way he spoke to me. Didn't want to judge back then and I still don't, but that tells me that she was accustomed to hearing her man speak to her that fashion.

Funny, I'm from Jamaica and the MOST men AND women I know (and I know a lot) are well spoken and are not loud and bossy...more like Compray.

I know you said Compry and I really cannot speak for the MOST men AND women loud and bossy that were brought up in jamaica as am not jamaican and really don't know.
I will say this though people who are loud and bossy (wherever they are from) are just basically cowards who pick on people who they <span style="font-weight: bold">deem</span> as being weaklings. They seem to feel when they act this way it is a plus to their personality.....it is not!! or they feel it will make peeps scared of them. See it on this board all the time....juss step pass dem

Like Compray, my point of reference are the men in my family. And none of them carry on like implied. My dad never cussed or raised his voice and let me tell you no man or woman thought of him as weak or dared to cross him.
He was against this kind of bandulu business. The thing is everyone needs to check themselves (I think that it is a dumb phrase but it gets the point across
) because you will attract what you focus on. I dont attract men who beat me or cuss me out because I will walk away from any fight that starts to go down like that. I refuse to apart of that kind of foolish behavior and I dont participate in myself You want someone that doesnt carry on like they were raised in a cave then dont behave yourself like you werent raised in a cave. That goes for both men and women so nobody come chat to me about being down on men. We all need to watch our mouths on occassion.
