Yeah busy isn't the word sometimes, but such is life sometimes, right? Work has been so busy that it isnt even funny. I’ve been getting home so late and all I have had the energy to do is crawl into bed.

My parents were born and raised in Jamaica. So we (family) go back to the island during holidays (mostly summers and a few winters when we can swing it), to see family, etc. We (everyone but the parents) are leaving 6/23. We come back for most of July and then we (evevyone and my father) will go again in August... Ye-Haw!!!!

BTW: Not that you'd do it, but I <u>deplore</u> "Island" jokes, so if they were coming....sorry. I equate them to black people and watermelon and chicken jokes. Then I might need to pray to God that he calms my spirit that I wouldn’t have to let you have it (smile).

Anyway, I just came on to edit an article and now I am done. It is off to work I go. I am praying for a slower day today. Enjoy your day.

Traveling with all of my family can be "hilarious", but the laughter only comes after it is done. Summer aint completely planned...I still have July wide open. I have a few days in July I have stuff to do for work, but fun stuff isn’t scheduled.

I am soooo glad to hear that you have some couth, so many people don’t. A guy at work asked me today about my summer plans, and immediately burst out singing the "Day-O" song. I was quite annoyed.

Are there any correct jokes about watermelon and chicken?

Baseball...Americas pastime. I am going to assume you play? Or do you officiate? I wish I understood that game. I use to teach Sunday school, but haven’t done it in a while. I love the Lord too. Yeah for me there is never a dull moment around here. We are laid back but there are just things to do. I try to live as stress free as possible. It really helps in raising the kids. Everyone tells me my kids are cool. I guess its because I try not to over-react. We never let our highs get us too high, nor do we let our lows get us too low.

I could tell from talking to you that you have a love for the Lord. No, Mrs. Cleo (the psychic) is not my aunt but unless you've been lying or faking, it shows through in your conversation. I'm kind of stumped about the expression part. By no means am I ashamed to express my love for Jesus. I pray openly over my class. I pray in the street with my children while they wait for the bus and any neighborhood kids that want to join in. I've called meetings in my room on teacher work days and fed the teachers and prayed that God is pleased with our hearts and thanked him for allowing us to be teachers, as it is an honor to be a teacher and one of His kids. But if your are asking do I shout and run in church, the answer is no. If the spirit leads me, I am not afraid, but it hasn't yet.

I hope you can tell that I am able to carry on a conversation about life matters as well. I wonder if I have answered the question or if you are saying "that guy is crazy".

I'm very comfortable in me, I am shy but I don't mind talking and opening up to you. If nothing else evolves out of our communication I know that you are my sister in Christ and that is always right! You will ask the right questions and I will answer honestly. That's what I expect and that's what I will give.

As for the summer, I think we (the kids and I) will do a weekend trip to the beach or something like that. 4H has a few summer sessions that I am interested in the kids attending i.e. leadership, safety etc. They run for about 2 months and you can pick and choose the sessions they attend.

Be sweet and we will chat again soon. Next time I go that long, we will do it in Chapters. (lol)

Hope your doing well. You know that I wouldn't trip about Mrs. Cleo, she was the only one I ever knew of except the woman that comes on Montell, and I didn't know her name.
Yep, you've peaked my curiosity about the church scene so whenever you feel comfortable I'm all ears (as the jackass said when he looked in the mirror).

I know that I would be blasted if the wrong person heard me praying. Our school is about 95/5 and unfortunately for this area that makes a difference. Most of the kids probably have never heard a black man pray, kidding but not really. This job, where I am is really different. For me right now, it is so much more about the training of a child as opposed to 2 4, adverbs, nouns etc. I feel that I am trying to sneak an adverb in between training these kids how to be very young men and women. I make the boys pull their pants up, I tape them if necessary, I send girls home if they are showing their crotch or where there breasts are going to be (lol). But the big question is how do they get out of the house? I have to set a standard for them because it is so low in the community. Ok I'm climbing down now.

Wonderful memories of my childhood, my dad was much older than my mom and he got sick (cancer) while I was in college. He threw a lot of things at me while I was watching him drift away but I now realize that he had a heck of a gestation period attached to some of those lessons. I look forward to thanking him one day.

Sorry about my figurative speech 95 % black n 5% white and other. I know that teachers do try and shape lives, but I think things coming from a male are received differently and it's not always good.

Hopefully one day we can sit down with those cookies and ice cream (chocolate, I bet) and discuss some life things, spirituality, love, life, children, anything etc. Hopefully by the pool which is now open. Hip Hip hooray!!!

Please dont be sorry about Ms. "Call Mi Now!", Lord knows, I wasnt (laugh). Accent...it depends on who you ask. When I am in Jamaica, I blend in rather well. When people hear me speak when I am around my relatives...they are just confused. Everywhere else, I am the average American. I'm afraid about what other things you have imagined about me.

Uh oh, you are starting to know a bit too much about me. How'd you know that I was a closet chocoholic? Yup the ice cream would have to be chocolate...the richer the better. Talking is good and I would like that. Summer school? Oh no...I thought teachers lived for summers? I do have a few work major projects that I'm committed to over the summer but that is it.

Hey Dude, how was your day?

Mine was rather boring. I had back to back meetings. It's funny, but during one of my meetings I found out that I am already behind on a few projects. I haven't even been "assigned" the projects yet. I could only laugh, or I might have started to cry. Oh well.
As for the wine, I only drink what I like. That means white and sweet, mostly Rieslings or the occasional Sav. Blanc. I don't do any other alcohols.

Ah the pool...something about it seems to get the kids excited. I find that it is a good way to tire kids out.

Congrats to your daughter for her award. What did she get it for? Well...I am going outside and enjoys what is left of the sun. I think I am going to walk to the library. I was supposed to have dinner with my girlfriend, but I think she is going to stand me up.

Good Morning...

You know me, doing work before work. I hope you have a good day. It is supposed to be one of those hot, humid, ozone 5 days (just the way I like it). So I am planning to get into work and then leave early, so that I can enjoy the heat.

Mmmm, dont know about the mixed drinks. They all just give me a headache. I don’t know why. They just do. I am glad that the kids like the pool. I just had a thought, you must live in one of those nice single family homes you made reference to in an earlier email. No big deal. I just remembered it for some reason.

I am all for road trips! However, I have to make my opportunities. Looked on the map to see hotel offerings in your town....um...didn’t see any that I'd be willing to stay at. OK, I just let out that I was a closet snob (lol...I kill me). So, I can come for a visit, but it would be in conjunction with visiting my sister, she lives in SC.

I like to say Reading is just the key to life. It expands more than just the imagination. It is wonderful to hear when a young person enjoys it.

You're invited on all my walks. I do take them quite often, especially in the summer time. The library was close enough to get the exercise and to get something new to read.

My girlfriend didn’t stand me up. She got here way after my bedtime, so we ate dessert and talked. We are going to grill some fish later tonight and goof of some more. God, I am going to miss her come 6/23.

Morning Babe

Yes you are the only one that does pre-work, I have trouble enough doing work and I've met a lady who does pre-work. That's funny.

Got side-tracked, the church called and asked how our Sunday School went last Sunday because none of the leadership was there. I had to think back since it's Friday of the following week (lol).

See you do think about things like I do. I caught that, you were thinking about the home we live in. I was picturing you living in a condo? (mumble) had me thinking I was crazy (think back to your accent) If you are not finding this funny it's because I'm not there in person (lol). Well it is single family and it is fairly quiet back here where I live. I have a super neighborhood where most everybody gets along. There is one old lady who is rather bizarre but that's about it.

As for places to stay, if you decide to come and visit. We will need to update your browser. There are plenty of places here to stay. There's a Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express (new), and another new hotel that just opened a week ago, I don't know if it will serve the snob in you, but it is new and its not a motel six, even though we do have one of those.

Ok I've got to get ready for school. Do me a favor, remain sweet and crazy...

No pre-work. I edit articles for an online newsletter and late at night/early in the morning seems to be the only time that I can work on the articles. Trust...I have issues of my own getting work done.

Condo, no not me. I just moved to this house (actually this past February will have made a year). I downsized to this place (townhouse). I like it a lot. It is a small community and the neighbors are friendly. The town is rather Stepford-wifish, but I keep to myself and it is cool. I am still cracking up about the accent, but that is OK.

You will have to give me an updated link. I swear every time I Google your hometown...I get things like Mayberry, Small Town to be careful about, Paper Mills, Poverty, 3 high schools, No mans land...I wont go on. Perhaps, your town leadership could work on a marketing strategy? I am not making any digs...just telling you what I find.

You really weren't supposed to know that I was a closet snob...now I am embarrassed. I am sorry. Hampton Inn's are nice. I think I have been to one before, or maybe it was a Holiday Express.... You may be able to sell me on a visit if you can tell me about workout facilities in your town. I keep reading that people in your town are avid Canoers (sp?) and cyclists.

Ok I give up, we must do better marketing on our town. You are hilarious. I must admit most of your readings are correct but it has some good point too like........and then there's........well at least I'm here. Lots of fishing and boating goes on here. We have the Palisades Theatre but it has no bearing on folks that look like us. They haven't had any artists other than salsa music folks and I'm not a salsa music fan.
