I don't keep my son from his father. I have never done that. He is working in NJ and is always making excuses as to why he can't come see his son then all of a sudden his mother is dead and he is available.

My issue really is that I don't want my son going to the funeral. I am not comfortable with that. I am ok with him going to the house after the service. It may be ok for children to be around dead bodies in Jamaica but I am not Jamaican and neither is my child.

I dont get your point. If I was admant about not sending my son, I sure as hell wouldnt ask anyone for their opinion - I just do what I wanted.

P.S. You are not the only person on the planet with horrible in-laws. I'm sure there are ppl on hear who could give your story a run for your money.

I dont care how you cut it - I would not make the same choice as you. But seeing as you dont think anyone has walked in your shoes, feel free to ignore my advice and everyone else's.
