I would get legal opinion on this. Document, document every conversation - date and time the student told you, time of conversation with union rep, etc. This teacher should be fired it is going to be very uncomfortable or even impossible for you to continue to work with her in the future.

It should be a BIG DEAL to them! (((ILP)))...I cannot imagine what could prompt someone to do such a thing! I would say this should be a firing offense on the part of the offenders. The scope of the seriousness of it all is huge!

the union is coming in the morning to take a statement.
as i didnt feel comfortable informing my principal (the rule is to inform the pricipal first, so that they get the opportunity to fix it) as he drinks with the "colleagues" in the evenings.
they said they will inform him and them come.

di union told im that given the personal nature of the statements and the fact that the students were involved, my being "uncomfortable" was understandable and that it was spilled milk now.

mi had was fi give names of the students, times, etc. and exactly what the students said. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] &lt;----- (mi neva want to do daht). the principal look shame fi real (after him try fi "lighten di mood" &lt;--- (him words) wid jokes, when mi repeat wah di pickney seh...which led me to believe seh im himself mek some ah di comments bout mi too or worse [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70400-talktohand.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whatever.gif[/img]

di union told mi daht now di procdure is to give: di principal and "di collegues" chance fi respond to my report. dem hah 10 school days.

mi ask wah gwine happen after di reponse. di union seh anyting from transfers (if any party requests it), formal reprimands in files to formal apologies. dem seh dem may haffi ask di students (the principal hah daht option), just to make sure dem report is accurate [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whatever.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img]

Wow - this must be very traumatic ILP... open confrontation like that - with people u have to work with and see everyday.

Nonetheless - I think u did the right thing ESPECIALLY since they were discussing this in front of studenst and Undermining you and subsequesntly your authority with these kids.
