Re: What mi fi do?
yesterday, my DC (department chair) came into my classroom with, "Hey ILP, can I talk to you for a minute?" She had this really idiotic grin on her face. She went on to say that she was called down and "had her [censored] chewed out" by my principal and she 1. never meant in a million years to offend me.
2. that yeah, maybe she has said stuff, but she has never, ever done it in front of the kids <---- her words.
3. and she apologizes
so I basically told her my piece... that I was there to do my job only and so her personal opinion of me meant nothing to me. I don't hang out with them after work because that is how I was raised and I have friends of my own. she apologized again, then just kinda sat there, not really sure what she wanted, so i asked her if she needed anything else, she said no and then got up and left. didn't hear from the others. they are not in my department, so i think they just stayed away. which really was OK with me.
as for the students. i saw the class (that told me what was going on) today. my principal sent me an email saying that he interviewed the students that I named directly (and you could tell by their demeanor) and that he found it best if I didn't bring up the situation until he was done with his investigation.
i got an email from the parents of one of the kids in the class (fellow yaadie) and she said that her son told her what happened (i think after he was questioned) and i had her full support, so let her know if i needed anything. i thought it was really nice of her. my principal does have 10 days, so I am speculating the earliest will be next week. The union will let me know.
thanks for asking
