proud to say nobody in our household has EVER purchased a pair of these shoes. not even as gift fi smaddy else.

dawta has some expensive pair of gladiator sandals that mi sure shi wi carry fi foot relief. she has expensive tastes, i really don't know where she get it from. certainly not me, mi cheap lakka wa.

okay - so here's my report from last night's viewing of the thread.

first, she tell me &quot;i don't think u really know what i mean by white shoes&quot;, caw di comments bout her taste in wanting white boot made her bringle. she never really told me what she meant, but i take it that whatever white shoes were, they would not have been the type to clash wid har orange frock.

as we made our way thru the thread she was a lickle skeptical about the comments on colour and bling, but she seemed to come round to the idea of simple and bronze. she's willing to let go of the &quot;strappy&quot; for the sake of not complicating the dress.

BTW - she was a little distracted reviewing the thread because she learned (finally!) she was accepted into the university of her choice. she applied to four and got accepted to three almost right away. there's fierce competition to get into the last one - especially for the sciences - so we are all very proud of her accomplishment.

thanks, everyone, for your congrats on her getting into university.

she told me her daddy was very proud. him all tell her story bout how before she born he thought she was going to be a boy and did pick out a name of an egyptian king who was known for his intellect, so even though she turn out to be a girl, she still had all the qualities of the king for whom she was supposed to be named. made my dawta tear up, but made me mentally roll mi yeye dem maybe a jellus mi jellus.

anyway, back to di prom...

bwoy, blackstar, it would give me such joy if she wore her hair natural. she's the complexion of the first girl, and when her hair is just washed it have the texture of the second girl, and mi know she would look stunning.

but she was very diplomatic when mi show har the pic. all she said was, &quot;i don't like hair on my face&quot;. but when she ready she wear bangs.

she likes her natural hair, but straightens it for going out. she thinks that's the way to go.

A dress like this needs a tall heel, can she go to 3 the front has to be strappy due to the style of the front of the dress and it needs to be jeweled someone looking at her will be dazzled by both teh design of the dress and the shoe it will make for a more completed look.

The shoe that wd compliment the dress wd be more in keeping with your first choice (you can go 2.5 if she can't do 3) but the second one wd kill the dress IMHO but I'm no shoe junkie so what do I know
