maybe in my lifetime (i'm not holding my breath)...the scurge of the weave will be beaten back...
i'm personally against the perm thing too but i know that will never end because of human nature...i'm seen as an extremist so don't mind me...
but it's a mental thing and it's deep...i'm convinced that the african's plight in the world is partly because of their embrace of other peoples' image of beauty over their own...
how can we elevate if our minds are captive?

It's nothing but reverse psychology Jahyout. So many of us are victims to that and are too pompous or blind to see that.

I get that very often and I do feel like a queen when I can wear it up, down, twisted, out and pulled back all in one week. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

My boss always said he cannot wait to see what style I wear next because of my hair's versatility. I LOVE MY NATURAL, THICK, TIME-CONSUMING HAIR, because it is mine, allllll mine. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

I remembered my grandmother saying that my hair is thick and hard to go through because we "last-name-here" are decendants of Nanny and require time to think of rising to the top as we comb though, so we should never compromise that time. It's just as kinky as the next.
The only reason people say "mixed" ca' I suppect they don't believe a black woman can have long hair.. with out extension-s being in it..
If afro go a week without grease & a brush yu wouldn't be able to put a comb nor finger in it.
Maybe it look the way it do ca' a have never had a perm, a have the right diet (That works for my body/hair), & a only use natural technique... & as Zarah do, A take time to manage my hair..
A don't understand why women whom blessed with "kinky hair" don't think it's beautiful(Meaning they feel it's got to be permed, straightened, a certain texture, a certain length or covered up wether it be a wig, extentions ect..)... A love all my "Napps".

Short and kinky or long and kinky a say natural is better.. All things take time and yu must take the time out to love yuh hair.. That's just my opinion.
