First piece of advice is change your cellphone provider. The usual rate to a Cellphone in Jamaica is only about $.30 for most providers. A good calling card can get you 60 minutes for $10.00us if you talk a lot like I do.

I suggest you research this site for the horror stories other visitors have written about their experiences. In fact, you can read a similar story on our Front Page this month Losing Her Groove in Jamaica!

I know you think you are the only person that has an "honest boyfriend" but the majority of those who begin believing this end up used and abused. I would listen to what Scarface wrote as he is a Jamaican Man and he is giving you the full 100!

i have verizon wireless and he uses a cellphone (digicel). what phone provider would you recommend? also, what calling card would you recommend and where might I get one?

I hear what scarface is saying as well as what everyone else has said. I don't want to end a relationship that may be the best thing to happen to me because so many Jamaican men are liars, users, and jerks. I would much rather go through this experience and get hurt at the end than end it now and always wonder what could have been. I've been really hurt in the past and I survived. I am grateful for that experience, as painful as it was, i learned from it.

I don't want to end a relationship that may be the best thing to happen to me because so many Jamaican men are liars, users, and jerks. I would much rather go through this experience and get hurt at the end than end it now and always wonder what could have been. I've been really hurt in the past and I survived. I am grateful for that experience, as painful as it was, i learned from it. Whether this relationship will end well or not, i'm willing to take the chance. With that said, I am not a stupid girl, and know that I can handle what will come my way.

Verizon offers a Long Distance International Plan that costs (I believe) $3.00US per month to enroll and $.65 per minute. Not so cheap but cheaper than $1.50US per minute.
