The story of the Anunnaki as told by the Sumerians also helps to answer another annoying question. Why is it that all over the ancient world, certain common structures can be found and stories told? It is believed these alien beings set up bases and mines at certain strategic areas on the earth such as Egypt, the Andes area in South America and of course Sumer (Mesopotamia). There is also this persistent mention of and persistent search for gold and it is ironic that somehow it is the earth's most treasured and sought after commodity as if at some point in time, someone established its worth. It is also quite interesting that the God of the Bible seems to have a thing for gold too.

I know it sounds really far fetched, if not insane, for some of us to believe we may have been created by the decision of a collective body known as the Elohim (gods). They had a leader who in turn had an innder circle made up of his own children. According to the writings that have come down to us from the earth's first, hence oldest, civilization from which all others have sprung, they enlisted some from their own ranks to mine the underbelly of the earth in search of the coveted metal found in abundance on just this planet. After ages of this laborous work, the rank and file workers mutinied against the elite members putting the operation at risk. The leader, An, was called in to hear the concerns of the workers and he sided with their pleas. It then became necessary to come up with another plan so the elite went into counsel and it was eventually suggested that it was possible to "create" a worker known in the Sumerian language as Adapa or Adamu. The idea was presented that it was possible to use genes derived from themselves and merge it with the genes of existing apelike creatures that existed on the earth already, effectively creating a whole new breed far more intelligent than what was already there yet less advanced that the elite themselves. The suggestion was approved and the council agreed to create man, a job that fell upon the lap of their chief medical scientist by the name of Ea or Enki and his half sister, Ninhursag, a doctor in her own right.

Both set up their labratory above the gold mines in an area said to be in the region of east central Africa. After trial and error, the feat was accomplished and man (homo sapien sapien) was created, albeit, in the "image of the gods" because their very essence was used in the sucessful experiment. Below is a copy from a Sumerian seal showing the scientists in their labratory creating man at the "potter's wheel" and upon their completion, presenting him to An, the leader. Note the "tree of life" behind An and the lab bottles on the shelf.



Now that you have spit up your coffee or juice, gather yourself and let's sit back and reflect on a few things. in 1987, scientists from universities in California and Michigan came to the startling conclusion that all modern humans descended from mitochondrial DNA traced back to a single "Eve" who originated where? East Africa. It is rather interesting to note that in the book of Genesis man is actually brought in from elsewhere ("...and there he put the man he had formed..."). This suggest man was not "created" in the Garden of Eden but was of course 'formed' elsewhere and then brought to the garden to till it as a subsequent verse tells us. The Sumerian account mentions man was brought in to farm the land to produce food for these alien beings.

Another thing that is of keen interest is a symbol that has come down to us from very ancient times. It is the symbol of medicine still known by its ancient name, the Caduceus (see below)







The symbol became associated with Enki and it is easy to see why. In later cultures Enki was known under other names such as Hermes to the Egyptians and then the Greeks and Mercury in Rome where in all cases, the same character carries around the Caduceus and interestingly enough, has wings on his feet that allows him to to fly. Now many might not have atually asked themselves why is the Caduceus the symbol of medicine even up to our very day? Why 2 serpents entwined around a staff with wings at the top? Anyone casually reading ancient writings including the Bible or doing a study on the constellations will readily realize the serpent plays a prominent role in ancient lore even to the point of a worshipped creature. The serpent has of course been demonized in the Bible while the serpent was synonymous with the idea of deception and evil it also contradictorily represented enlightenment, symbolic of revelation of secrets, and life and healing. This is readily apparent when we read the puzzling story of Moses raising up a serpent on a staff (serpent? staff?) and requesting that the children of Israel look up to it in order to be healed from poisonous snake bites (Numbers 29). The image has been etched in history like this:



Later in Jewish history this very same brazen serpent on a staff Moses created was found in the Jewish temple being worshipped and Jesus even likened himself to the serpent in respect to the fact that those who look to him will be saved.

Is it just pure coincidence that the Caduceus is linked to Enki the alleged creator of modern man and that one of his symbols is the serpent, the revealer of secrets and lifegiver? I think not. But there is yet another observation to be made. The Caduceus has an odd resemblence to a DNA strand (the double helix) and we know the human DNA is the basic foundation of life, as it is the basic building block of life. It contains the genetic code and the very [secret] knowledge of how to create life as scientist have "discovered" in the past 50 years. Strangely enough, the Sumerians present pictures in the tablets that appear to be DNA stands depicted as two serpents entwined around each other on the body of a human figure as if to say the entwined serpents have some connection to the human figure (will try to find a picture of that cylinder)

Well there is more that can be said. None of this has to be believed but it is worth some pondering I think. For more information I would consult those who are versed on interpreting the Sumerian language. [/qb]

No true educated scholars intrepret Sumerian and find Aliens as a part of our human past.

Zecharia Sitchin is considered an eccentric among the individuals who are actually trained to intrepret Ancient Sumerian writings. He is felt to have established his theory and has then worked backwards to try to establish evidence that the theory was true.

Zecharia Sitchin is eduated as a Journalist and his books on "this alien subject" related to the origins of man and ancient Sumer are listed in the sience fiction section of Barnes & Noble.

Thanks for the backup wanda. You are absolutely correct, in regards to where some of this information is coming from. I have an affinity for Mr. Sitchin, my personal library is stocked with many of his books. I concur with the notion that he may not be formally trained in Sumerian history as others, however, it would be an arduous task proving many of his findings wrong.

Despite what may be said about him (and he does have his detrators), quite a few intelligent people find merit to what he has to say. I for one might not accept everything he has to say, but using my own judgment and research before I even knew who Stichin was, I pondered some of the very things he presents. I would not entirely rule him out (toss the baby out with the bathwater) just because you, I, or someone else mocks at the general idea of "aliens" or because the orthodox academics finds him to be an eccentric.

No. I have never read any of Sitchin's books but I have come across many excerpts. I had my own suspicions prior to any knowledge about him. He only helped to reinforce them and shed light on others.

There is a very articulate and intelligent supporter of Sitchin by the name of Neil Freer who has taught philosophy, history of religion at the college level and has written his own popular books. While he supports Mr. Sitchin, he does acknowledge some differences of opinion at the peripheral level but he feels overall that Sitchin is on to something. Here is part of an interview he did which pretty much sums up my own thoughts:

These are the driving factors that prove out, over and over again, the thesis of Tom Kuhn in his "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions": radical new paradigms are fought, kicking and screaming, regardless of how robust and clear the evidence is, and only accepted when the old guard dies off. So this tendency to tenure tetanus is a primary reason why the "experts" ignore Sitchin's thesis or try to get him quick and nasty in personal attacks since they haven't been able to refute him in 24 years.

A second reason is that the more intelligent of them realize well that his thesis calls into question not only their data but a fundamental assumption on which their disciplines are founded. They accept as unquestioned that the transcultural "gods" known to all the ancient civilizations were unreal, mythic beings. Sitchin says, just as the Sumerians said, that they were flesh and blood humanoids --- and aliens to boot.

Even if they allow themselves to entertain the possibility that his thesis is correct, they don't want to deal with the ramifications. It means that we must literally rethink the entire planet. For an academic scholar to "go first" in a situation like this is a rare case indeed.

The situation is made even more difficult because of that magic word "alien". Even though the Anunnaki are from within our solar system, not from forty light years away like the little grey guys with wraparound eyes, even though we are half Anunnaki and they look very much like we look, the fact that they are from off planet and can be called "alien", the circles get made 'round the ears and the eyes roll in the "expert" academic community for fear of peers tagging one as a looneytune. This is complexified by the fact I emphasized in the white paper I published on the web recently, "The Alien Question, An Expanded Perspective": there are two artificial problems here.

We have an abundance of information and evidence that demonstrates the alien presence in general on this planet. The suppression of the entire topic by the government has severely retarded the academic and scientific communities, an artificial problem. We have as much or more evidence and information that we are half alien, a bicameral species brought about through Anunnaki (alien) genetic engineering. But the suppression throughout western history by the Roman Church of that entire paradigm has created the other artificial problem for scholars and humans in general.

To balance all this out it is imperative that I qualify by emphasizing that there are, no doubt, honest, sincere, scholars and scientists of great integrity out there who do "get it", who see that Sitchin is very correct. But it seems that there are not those among them, so far, who have the courage of military warriors like Robert O. Dean or Philip Corso, to risk pension, prosecution and persecution to speak out because they want the truth to prevail.

I became convinced of the correctness and validity of Sitchin's thesis ---- just as I have become convinced of the correctness and validity of Sir Laurence
Gardner's thesis recently ---- not by dry logic or intuition but by its utter coherence: they are the only explanations which contain no inexplicable elements, no contradictions and in which all the facts dance together in total consort.

To qualify precisely further, I do not agree with Zecharia on an incidental point or two and find the same holds true with Sir Laurence's conclusions, but these are peripheral, not essential core thesis points. In this massive, revolutionary volume of material, it would be amazing if there would be total agreement about details this early on.

I've allowed for this possibility for many years because I feel, or I can imagine, a time in the near future, when our goal here on Earth, would be to create sustainable human life off the planet. So it just stands to reason that it may have happened here.

And as you suggest Mutty, I think that these ideas will be, or may be, figured out by linguistic analysis. Language grows outwards a word at a time. People don't start talking about pollination, before they have words for flowers and bees. If there are words and discussions that from these early cultures that spring out of "no where," then for me that would be quite convincing.

Writing period is a huge leap in language of course. But to travel from other planets (the long gone asteroid belt?) or distant galaxies (pretty much impossible it seems), you are going to need the language of numbers, math... you are going to need calculus. I'm under the impression that the Greeks came up with this breakthrough. Are there any suggestion math or algebra in these early writings?

I am well aware that the reasons these theories will not settle well is with the Christian community is because they are embraced by the New Age community, a community that is often scandalized by the Christian community. There is still the perception that New Agers are people who walk the woods at nights, worshipping rocks and crystals and sacrificing babies to wood nymphs. I am NOT a New Ager but I happen to be of some of the same opinions they share in this regard.

There is a saying that says, "even a stopped watch is right twice per day." The theories of Sitchin and those along his vein might not be accurate at all points. At points he may stretch quite a bit but there are points he and others make that appear unquestionable.

That is one side of the Christian community. The other side have their fears because they are well aware that if these theories are embraced by the masses, there would go their livelihood of propt up hierchies, lots of money, the pomp and circumstance and the beautiful controlling power of fear. This would be the same branch of the church (by this I mean the established organizations) that wanted to burn people at stakes because they had the audacity to believe the earth was round or that earth was not the center of the universe. These are the same ones that took over 500 years to apologize and admit to long held biases and opinions of theirs.

Its amazing how easy it is for some to believe in evolution and Space visitor creators and try to use scriptures to agree with their pet theories.

However where as it must scripture deviates from these origin theories the assumption is that scripture must be in error.

The other amazing feature is the comigling of scripture with the annakuti or whatever is vogue time travel, Atlantis, Star wars, stargate etc.

I have no issue with enquiring minds, but the bible is clear that one cannot choose to believe in part, its the whole thing or none at all.

The real truth is that so much is unknown about what is out there it leaves a lot of room for speculation and assumption.

The vastness of our universe the relatively little we know about the meaning of it all spurs our creative juices to come up with scenarios borrowed from time immemorial when men looked into the night sky and wondered what was out there.

The bible says very little about life on other planets, it does not deny or admit it. It however says a lot about life on this planet we call earth.
But the bible does speak of other levels of existince, differing much from ours and declares there is an unseen world.

History is vivid with stories of visitors from other worlds much more advanced than humans.The Bible is a spiritual record and it does warn us of deceptions by creatures more advanced than humans with knowledge of the secret things of God, morever there is always the warning not everthing is good for one's soul.
Yestersday's demons/gods may more fashionably be seen today as space visitors, but the bible also warned that Satan has transformed himself into "an angel of light".

All this is a matter of faith. Who do you believe?
