For example, I have a feeling that your bio father's side of the family will make more of an appearance as time goes on. Do you really think they won't find out? How will you address the backlash, or at the very least let them know you've taken the plunge?Comment

DearK, - I think they smell a rat because my mom in law is here and of course when they call she answers. I have developed the sort of relationship where we are cordial to each other therefore they dare not ask me why she's there or even who she is.
I think they will find out and eventually I know I will have to tell them and I intend to.
My dad keeps calling more regularly to check up on his baby funny he should have done that 26 years ago
I am sure there will be rumors. T is not comfortable with my decision, he feels they should know especially the fact that they have met him. (this past summer).
He has spoken to the bio dad a few times and have even spent time with the miserable grandfather
His mother also isn't in agreement with my decision. My mother, who knows her ex husband, understands my position. She feels that out of courtesy I should extend an invitiation and I would, if I knew they weren't coming, but I know him he and his wife will mortgage their house to come. I don't want them in my memories.
During my struggles he wasn't there so why is he going to be there at the end.Comment

Let me tell anyone planning a wedding: IT EXPENSIVE NO RAHTID!!!!!!!!!!
Last night we spent mucho $$$$$$ on a phone call that went over everything only to realise that after we tallied up the total I forgot to include the liquor (sorry Bim and Jahlive). Mi had to wake up dis mawnin an call him an seh no sah di liquor lawd di liquor cause mi cyaan tek ie. HIm [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img] soh till.
There is always something that's forgotten.
recently we forgot the flowers, *how can we forget flowers* :bex:
My maid of Honor gave me a book this weekend which is helping me get on track.
We are well below the figures we originally planned but it is still expensive but worth it.Comment

Ok, what do you do when the groom has a god-daughter that is just the cutest button in the pan. You have to put her in the wedding.
But what do you do when you have a cousin with a kid *notice mi neva seh cute* and the cousin expects you to put the child in the wedding because unu a*blood* wah you do.
Well that is what is going on. I am telling you, I will have more luck solving the Palestine/Israel issue than I will getting out fo this.
She call this weekend "ummm, so Marie, wah size frack mi fi buy Sherika be flowers girl"
First of all, when she pregnant mi tell her seh no name di pickney no eediat name cause di ongle place she a go get job wid name like Mercedez (as a black pickney) and Crescenda is govament office.
Anyhow I told her that his god-daughter is the flower girl she cuss and seh mi fling weh family fi man. o/
She seh she nah put foot a mi wedd'n if har pickney nuh in deh soh Grandma it look like there is space afterall cause mi nah budge.
When mi tell him him seh fi a peaceful life mi fi tek out him GD and put in mi cousin pickney mi seh no. It is MY wedding and nobody nah go rule mi an tell him who fi have.
Why wasn't he so understanding before pan him too

Ok Nedda drama
this part will be entitled *The Mother of the Bride*
Now anyone who knows me will know there are no differences between my mother and myself. She is my closest friend and is like my sister.
I love this woman more than life itself and I couldn't ask for a better sweeter wonderful stern miserable but cute and did I mention pretty mother.
Ok, Mr. T's family is S.D.A. I worship in a Church of God Church *reminder fi call Sis Foulkes fi repent cause a long time mi nuh go a church*
Anyhow, it was a big deal for his family that we be married in an SDA church. I didn't mind it at all so we are getting married there. That was his mother's only request and I didn't feel anyway about handling it.
Now mek mi fill unu eeen pan di issue at hand.
The SDA churches are extremely strict in comparison to other churches so much so that the girls will have to wear shawls as dem frack is very sexy and as the bride mi choose the sexiest frack of all so therefore I have to have a shawl also.
Now for those of you who know my mother knows that ummmm, the older she gets is the prettier and younger she gets. The woman now look like she 25.
So here's the deal with her. When Moni_q and I went to pick out the dresses I casually mentioned to mom that I saw some "mother of the bride dresses"
Her comment: "ummm, dem lacey lacey and long"
I said Yes mom that's what is traditional. She says
"Soh mi cyaan wear pants" mi seh not in di peeple dem SDA church wah rang wid yuh.
soh she said, "den any of di frack dem weh yuh see have split, mi seh yes mommy dem have split.
She seh "weh pawt"
mi seh in the back. She seh no no no, mi mean if dem have split pan di side going up di leg
o/ help mi.
Mi sort of broach the subject this weekend and mommy decided that she nah go dance inna no old ooman outfit soh she a go have two dresses. One conservative church one fi see mi exchange vows but to let the catering hall knwo she requires a room in wich to change into what she call di bashment outfit. *fawda help*.
Mi nuh even have two dresses a one mi did plan fi wear but she want two. She also asked if we ar edoing the seated or buffet I said seated, she seh "oh cause fi mi stiletto heel too tall"
She and T are putting together the music because apparently I am not *hip* with the times to choose the latest and best chunes.Comment

Father? when was he a father? Why should I invite someone who didn't contribute to making me the person I am now.
Thats' like rewarding a team member who didn't do any of the work.
Lee, there is a lot of hatred on my part for this man.
His family is very evil and I don't want any bad karma around me on my day.
Girl as far as me concern he will never be my father. When I think of him during my younger years I remember when I was sick and my mother sent for him to take me to the doctor because she had to go to work and he said "no it's her time to take me to the doctor"
Financially she couldn't even afford it but it was friends who came through. Girl this is the same man who refused to pay a dime of child support since it was ordered from the time I was 11.
I have a recollection of one gift which was a doll when he came to the US when I was 9 or so.
The next gift never came. He was never in any of my birthdays, never there when I was sick, never there when I got awards, never there to dress a bruise. It was always mommy. In everything I do, there was always mommy.
Now that we (mom and I) have made it he should feel happy to come and proudly announce that I am his daughter?
He has not earned the right to be my father and it's too late to do that now. I wish men thought of this before they decide to throw away their families.Comment

anyway people i can attest to the fact all a whe she say..all the drama and ups and downs..the bridesmaid frack is pretty and her dress is beoutiful but it heavy no backside, me sarry fe har. Me buy me ticket aready..all is well and i know its gonna be a beautiful weddin.

The weekend hasn't brought too much drama, some but not too much. I have been eating out of depression for the past week so I am worried about the dress fitting. I am now back to my regular *sensible* diet and working out.
The weird thing is he gave me a year membership as a gift becasue it was what I wanted but he warned me, at one point while on Atkins I went down too much does it ever end
Undergarments:
ummmm smaddy gi mi some good sites to go cause mi never know that you have to have special undergarments for wedding dresses.
Question: what part can a 12 year old boy play in a wedding. I am thinking non but mi tyad a him a hint seh him wish him likkle brother could do something.
Future family and friends of Brides to be, one word of advice:
