Clearly you've missed the 50 million threads that I have done on this topic. Read my lips it was the WHITE MEN who were doing the ruling out NOT the Black women. It was the WHITE men who said that they don't find Black skin attractive and that they would not even consider dating or marrying a Black woman.

It has something to do with comfort levels. Any colour skin is attractive. White men generally are timid to displease their families by getting too close to a Black or an "other than" of their own race. Doesn`t mean they they find black skin unattractive. Maybe over-powering but not unattractive.
We harp on the exteriors of a person in this discussion but we hardly look in the mirror of our souls and mind, the quality thinking we expose to others. It is in ones soul that there is the greatest attraction.

Lacy Peterson case beaten to death - how many women of other races were killed by SO's in the same period?

the Florida white girl who they found dead after being abducted by the pedophile neighbour (cant remember her name) - and hardly any coverage of black girl Rilya Wilson's disappearance (also in Florida)

Terry Schiavo - how many others are in the same position as her? and no less than the President of the United States cuts short his weekend to fly back to DC to sign some bill pertaining to her situation..

then I saw some govt blondespokesperson (but she was a ole mash-up one..all cuteness gone [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ) talking about a Haitian teen who after 2 years was released from an INS detention centre, finally getting a change at asylum in the US..and she had the heart to say he shouldn't be released saying that Pakistanis and other Middle easterners were using Haiti to infiltrate the US...as if a middle easterner can pass for a creole-speaking black Haitian..as if the terrorists dont have many other ways of getting here or using Americans etc already stateside to do their dirty wwork..

Q3210 if a man says "I don't find Black women (or Black skin) attractive, I would not date or marry a Black person but I think you are a really fine person and I would like to get to know you better and hang out as friends" how de baxide does that translage into THE WOMAN harping on exteriors and not looking in the mirror.

Nothing I said will cause change, I never thought obstinate people dynamic in anything.
What I would say is that if someone said, "Hey YT, you aint pretty as snow and your skin is bumpy but I` d like to know you and have you as friends" That I`d say go find some other friend to contaminate.
Same goes for you Tropi. If someone had the verbosity to say what you said they said to you, I think they`d warrant something BLACK...a BLACK eye perhaps.

Tropi.. i'm going to go out on a limb here... and im not trying to offend you... as you make many a valid point.. and i try very hard to understand your perspective......

But i do find that sometimes you are far reaching and assigning racism to some that might not be

I am sure there are many people who find all kinds of people unattractive to them as lovers or mates for life .. but have no problems or issues with them in any other capacity......

a white not finding a black person attractive.. nor wishing to marry one is fine... same for a chinese.. an indian.. a pakistani.. an egyptian.... that does NOT make them racist..

nor should it make you think or feel there is something less of you.. or its against blacks in general

i have several black women friends that have told me they are not interested in white men.. would not date them either.. hence no marriage.. but have many as friends.... they are not racist...and shouldnt make their white male freind feel less of a person....

I feel badly that you have been thrust in many a situation where you are surrounded by men that you feel dont want to date you because of the color of your skin..... and it seems to me that you have been deeply scarred..... you harp on it all the time.. and you also have a thing with blondes and white women who manage to get black men....

people can choose who they want to date.. marry.. and be attracted to.. its not all because of racism... not saying there isnt any in there.. but it sure aint all of it

im not attracted to all people... in fact i will boldly say outloud that i was never attracted to black men in the past either... never really thought about it honestly growing up.... i didnt have much contact with blacks.. hence it didnt enter my mind.....

now as an adult.. with a diverse life style.. and community of friends.. i have noticed black men more.. attracted... maybe... i dont think on it much...

im more with q on this one.. it's the soul that will get me .. not the skin...

but if you ask me honestly.... there are plenty i am not attracted to.... as is everyone....and what about jews who want to marry just jews.. or indians whose marriages are prearranged with other indians.... and many japanese who do the same... are they condemned as racist....people have a right to choose who they want to date..and not be labelled racist because of it

racism is rampant.. it exists for sure.. and most of the arguments here are very good......

but you got to be careful before you declare someone a racist.... and not make that leap so fast...

BND do you have any ideas why these black female friends keep yt friends but say they will never date a yt man?
Have you looked deep into why they say this?

You stated yourself that you as a more diverse individual. Now of course woth more knowledge of the world as well as of others you are more open to relations that you never even thought of in the passed.

But now you do think about them.
Is it the knowledge you have received?
