Thank You all for the high praises, but it us that are blessed being able to make this happen for Terry.
This board has many special Angels on it and i've read with tears in my eyes the stories of your giving to the girls home and several schools as well.
Every little drop in the bucket helps in someway know that.The kind people here and on other boards who are constantly looking to help are all part of the same "Secrect Angel Network"..bless you all.

Marilyn, what can I say about your generous heart,not only have you and GFT introduced so many to our island you and Angie have led by example with your "divas"..bless you and prayers for you and daughter.

Wow, I too, have been following this story. Thanks for all the caring work that you do. This reminds me somewhat of what a local church here does for a family down in Jamaica. The husband was injured here while working in an apple orchard and, like Terry, is paralyzed.

He fell from one of the trees. Every yr. a large group from the area goes to Ja. and upgrades his home for him and his family, they bring Medical and Dental help and hold clinics near his home and are welcomed more each yr.

It is such a blessing to see kindess shared to others. It is a blessing to see unselfish actions. I remember reading Terry's story when you first posted it and my heart was cheering for your efforts to get him a chair then. And now, thru all of your own personal trips and slips, you still managed to be a blessing to someone else -- even while you were still going thru.

The old folks always say you reap what you sow, and if what they say is true -- your harvest will be bountiful.

I was able to find directions to Terry's place on a post on another board:

I also found this post today, while looking for an answer to Thunderhead. It is Terry's story as told to the writer of the post. Terry is an amazing man...

Date: Tuesday, 11 January 2005, at 11:12 a.m.

i born trelawny in country. farm. no money. father died.i run away at age of nine. i jump on a truck and go to kingston.

i stay at market. i help people they give me food and clothes.i have no father to stand up for me. i saw my mother in kingston one day. i ask her can i live with you? she say no too many children. so i say i will go. after that i give her no more attention. i do not think of her again.

when i am twelve i go to negril. and live with older woman for one year. i walk the streets and sell peanuts and cigarettes. then i live in old car. when i am fifteen i send myself to school.

when i am small i remember my grandmother say "have manners to people do not steal." so i tell myself to respect people.

i work at bike rental shop. then i work construction. i mix concrete i learn plumbing.then i sell at night. i like to go around.[busy ,work] then i leave old car. i rent room. i never like to sit.i love to work for what i want. i like to go in morning and work. come home night. i never hungry because i work. trust me. i respect life. then i buy house.

i have accident 4 years now. i play football fall on rock. my neck break three places. i could only lay and look straight and talk. i cannot move anything. i am frightened. i cannot even bring a cup of water to my face.i die. bedsores and all of that. dr. tell me i will die two weeks. i do not answer. i think you are not god! i get ****** off. i live!

when i young i save money. i work hard. i tell young men save money, do not squander on alot of girls. save for your future. if you have no future you have no life.if i never save money i will die.

i ask if i can go to cuba to get medical help.they say you have no money. so i sell my house i go to cuba. there i get use of my hands and upper body.

i am a good kid. you have to be a good kid or you don't get around with people.

now i have a home again. i sell drinks from my home. i am happy to be alive.i do not want to go in street and beg. i work. when i go in street people cry for me. i do not want people to cry for me.when i sell things i feel like i am walking again. i feel like a man. it gives me courage and makes me feel real good.

i need help. but i need to help myself. trust me.

when i was in the hospital i see guys cripple like me. they do not want to live. i want to live.

i am not gonna die. i feel a tingle in my toes now. i am tough guy.

sometimes i don't like to think of those days. but i get over it.

i said no i am not gonna die. i will follow this:i will move along. god gave me strong faith. if you have faith you have life. i know god love me!

when i got in accident i die three times. i feel my body go. i don't wanna die no more.

Well the BIG DAY is here.
The chair was picked up from my wifes work and taken to the airport.
It should be on Air Canada to Jamaica on Saturday.
Gail Jackson will be handling things on the other end and Terry is really excited from what Julie (juju) tells me.
I'll call Terry as soon as we get word he has it and has taken it for a spin....yippeeee!!

Another boardie has taken up the "ramp" cause for Terrry and plans to look after things next week when she is down there...outstanding people on these boards ya' know.
There are so many "Angels" lurking on these boards , and a few nay sayers too.....but who listens to them [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
Praying to Jah for a happy ending to this project...blessings to All.

Already starting on the next project [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] , some supplies for that hospital in Sav, we'll see what we can dig up or steal [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
