I don't see why this such a big thing "only" to Christianity.
ANY ooman who is a child of GOD ( sum a unno will seh if dem nuh christian dem is not but oh well )
will dress a certain way out in public.
I'm a single man an mi love fe look pan ooman. While mi will hav mi spiritual tongue a lang out when a woman walk by mi an a sho harself to de whole world,everyting tight an tings a reveal.
I would not want that kind a person fe mi ooman.

Evil hitmewidmusik. What is evil about being honest instead of smiling and saying things I don't really feel. I used to think like Virtuous Woman. My thinking has certainly changed after the disappointments I have had and I am curious to see if her thinkig will remain the same. It would be nice if it did. I respect women who can stick with it even after being ignored and rejected. Perhaps Virtuous Woman has more patience than I do. I think that 12 years is an awfully long time to wait patiently so I would not exactly call myself short in patience...however, it has just run out after years of waiting and being treated badly. I am just being honest...not evil.

I really think it is very wise to look at the man who is a little shy, a little socially inept, maybe his skin suffered some during the teen years and has some scaring to show for it. Maybe he is a bit thick around the middle. If you are not including these men in your selection pool you may be opting out of relationship by default. Please understand I am not for a moment suggesting you look to men who do not have character. I would place character at the very top of my selection list.

I agree with the charachter part but if you are looking for a partner, isn't it important to be attracted to the man? I am not looking for a roomate or a spiritual mentor but a romantic partner.

Exactly. Our friend may still be hard to please, and wants what she can't have... the younger guys, who are after those gals who where the short tee shirts.

Well this is probably true. While I am no spring chicken, I look 28 - 32. In fact, when I go to play slot machines a couple of times a year, I still get carded. When I show my ID, the security guards are always shocked and apologize profusely. I really don't think it's unreasonable for me to want to be with someone in my own age group who I find attractive. Why should the Christian men in their 40s be chasing after young women in their 20s who wear skimpy clothes and ignoring anyone over 35. I just don't get it. That's one of the reasons you see some Chirstian women starting to push the envelope when it comes to how they dress. I have certainly felt that pressure this year. It's the only way to even have a chance of competing...unforunate as that is.

Virtuous Woman stated that she isn't willing to compromise the way she dresses to attract anyone and you stated you would love to see if she still has the same thing to say a few years down the line. My question is - since I think you said you use to be like her - have you now started to change the way you dress to attract others? Just curious.

Quick answer...yup..to some extent I have...the skirts are a little short and the tops a little more clingy and lower cut than they were even 6 months ago. I got tired of being ignored.

Just out of curiosity, if this doesn't work, what next? Seems to me if God has failed you (you say He hasn't answsered your prayers), and the changes does not work, you are fast running out of options [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

I never called ANYBODY a slut...I said they dressed like sluts. It is not a belief...it is what I have observed and what Christian men have (sheepishly) told me when I have confronted them about their hypocrisy.

I am not blaming God for anything. You are the one who said God has not been answering your prayers but that is a totally different subject altogether. Should I take it therefore that God has not spoken to any of the men concering you?

I was just wondering in any of these "Christian men" were hearing from God, and He had spoken to any one of them concerning you, are you suggesting they are not listening?

As for your first comment, why blame the men? If they are Christians as you state, they are probably following whatever is directing them. It may not be the Holy Spirit, but then again, His leading seems to be something that everyone leaves out of the equation.
