This is Courtney...also too dark...can't seem to found a better one of him. Courtney is A's partner, our driver and friend. He is talented, funny and gentle.
This is Brenda. She lives in a place across from the beach in Homer's Cove...her son Aaron and my Alanah hung out at the beach alot.
And this, of course, is Cudge. He is one of the most amazing individuals that I have ever had the priveledge of knowing. ((((Cudgie)))) miss you bad.
Now, there are some others, but I can't post them all....lots of people came by all the time....it was so amazing....really started to feel welcome. I am certain that initial greetings next time will be very different. There are two people that need there own posts tho....Rootsie and Ras. I will get to them.
Oh please forgive me...nothing is as good, as loving as friendly and kind as a Jamaican heart.
It is within that we find our friends after passing the attraction of the skin, eyes, mouth and clothing and you name it, whatever else.
The people you have in LB Green Biscuit show there genunity by the wide smiles and open eyes they give to you and their relaxed demeanor is another thing to note.

Shocked the least. Jamaican householders mostly use osterizers or blenders nowadays. However our phenomenal power-cuts do lend us opportunity to always revert to manual usage of old tools such as the good grater. [/qb]
I use my grater more often than I use my blender. Though I am still waiting for that KitchenAid food processor to grace my kitchen. But until then, chopping and grating is the way.
The thing Pepper, that motivated my introduction of the grater to this wonderful GB topic of cultural immersion was the image of a grater in my parents kitchen many years ago. Then I always saw the very same grater in other households all over Jamaica. The same model, the same style.
These graters made in Jamaica different than any other but used to do the same.
Let's bop around some....go back to the beach, see some more kids.....by the way, you would think that I am all unpacked, organized, etc....NOT! Today is gorgeous, and I should be outside working, but right now, I just need to be here....in my thoughts and report.
So, time to go to the beach again....even though Colie and I could each take perhaps 5 minutes to get ready for anything, each time we leave the house, it is a production....packing up the stuff for the kids, sunscreen from head to toe for all of us....nuff water...dwl.....here is Cudge waiting for us one day:
Here we are at Little Bay Beach....Dwayne has just picked up some fish at the stand there....see us in the background...
I tried it and it was delicious. Cole just couldn't....too much for her with the head etc, I would say...
See the little boys here? Well, the middle one was a Jamaican charmer in training...Francois....he was making time with my girl...the lyrics were flowing....we finally had to send him away before he messed up his school uniform completely...
It was so hot, this was the only truly comfortable place during the day:

Are there signs on the road coming from the east?
Are there accomodations available for strangers/ visitors? [/qb]
Q, if you go to Sav, and then continue into Little London, you follow that road, following the signs to the raceway....at that point, it is tough...follow the signs for Kayaking....off the paved road....I have never seen a single sign that says Little Bay....I am sure anyone could direct you, though. If you decide to go, please let me know. Yes, there are certainly accomodations at various levels....everything from cottages (Romies Ocean View) to in between (Tansobank) toVillas (like Coral Cove and Lookout Cove), more or less....but I can also arrange something for you with little notice if you PM me. PLEASE go see my friends, but give me a chance to send you some info to take with you, first! DWL
Thanks for the open door, GB. So far i am only lost in thought. I`ll remember you if and when I venture 3 hours and a hundred miles from home to that natures gift of a true eco-system existing and surviving by the works of man, beasts(mosquitoes) and plants both on land and in the sea.
Actually, I was just thinking....IM could probably give you better directions than I, as she zips around on her scooter when she is living there...not that there are street signs out in the bush there....
I am getting to some more of the gritty aspects, too.
