Ok...I will be back...have lots of photos and (I think) funny stories if there is interest. Pesha, the house is in Little Bay, Westmoreland.....about 10-15 miles outside of Negril. Soon come.

is the center concrete & then board to each side & board loft?

Hhhmmm....let's see if I can explain this. The very center, first floor is a block room. It is 14' deep, and 8' (I think) wide. This is divided in half internally to make two downstairs bathrooms. Off of that, on each side, is a 14' x 14' board room, with a vaulted ceiling. The vertical plane of the block walls is continued in board, up to the roof line. The loft is a board floor, over the block section, with a seperate entrance, and it's front veranda is directly over the bamboo bar. The downstairs rooms have no access to each other or the loft. The downstairs veranda's are separated by the bamboo bar. Does this make sense?

perfect sense....& that's pretty much what i had envisioned........i'm really gonna have to walk down there & check it out in december.

where is it in relation to some of the little bay landmarks?.....

I don't think I have said this before (if I have forgive me) but I had a whole disk of photos disappear...I am assuming they were what was on the disk that appeared to be empty when I got home....but I am missing a ton of them. I still have hundreds, but lost of dupes, and not necissarily of general interest.

As I said, there were lots of things to do, and the first few times I would bring something up (as in, what do you think if I do this, or how about if I help you do that) I would get a lot of laughter and jokes and [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] either from Cug, or one of my girlfiends....."You can't do that! It is too hard/heavy/hot <insert pertinent excuse here>"

I, of course, being raised by my father who told me that I can do anything that I set my mind to, take this as a challenge. One of the days that he was off at the morass, I tackled a pile of fence posts. There were about 3 dozen laying in the front side yard, and they were bugging me. Since they were to be used to revise the rear fence line since the land survey was completed, I decided to move them out of site, back there. Each one was 8' - 10' long. I moved them all but three, that were simply too heavy and thick. I would not risk injuring myself there with my children. The look on the girls' faces was priceless.

We had also planned to use some stone to make walkways....I asked if I could help, he said no, the wheelbarrow had been repaired, but incorrectly, so you hit your shins all the time, stone too heavy, etc. The morning he started to do the walks, after he dumped a few piles, I found a scrap board and started spreading and leveling. He never said I word, and we worked this way for a few hours....finally, towards the end, he started telling me I was doing something or other wrong in one section (too thick, too thin, whatever), and I hollered back it him just like his sisters do (who happened to be watching at this point)....everyone got a chuckle out of that...LATER.

This is one section, near one of the new gardens alongside the house...this garden was one of the many newly planted areas. He tells me this is already full and lush.
