Why do you keep introducing Phantom Agents into the discussions.?

The Bridge to Portmore should not have been tolled period, under any Government.
There were little or no consultations with the residents.
The first bridge created negative environmental events and it is almost a surety that this one will, even the GOJ's own impact study said that.

feh. we're having a discussion about reactions, and i'm trying to bring in different aspects. just because you or i may not consider this initiative a crowning achievement, it doesn't mean others would not. however, since the idea of looking at things another way seems to cause consternation (i mean really, phantom agents?), then i'll cease and desist. What other way if you had posted they other way then one could easily discuss that instead it is a ritual of introducing duppies then chasing after them.

It cannot be just Ja$60. If you live in Portmore you have to figure at least two ways.
If you drive an SUV, a Bus or a Truck then hand over your full paycheck to the Highway Man/Woman!

Roads and other facilitates previously paid for by Portmore Residents/Jamaican Citizens are arbitrarily taken over.
The Jamaican Government is rumoured to be considering the sale of the old bridge to the Port Authority, will the toll be lowered after this event?
Will this be legal?

The Jamaican citizens paying any toll are at going to be faced with a raise if the:

US Bond price go lower
US Inflation Rate goes to certain levels
Ja$ falls too far against the USA$.

Then the massive overruns on the Highway Project……who pays?

I was just going to post that. Only a simpleton would believe that the minimum wage earners have enough money to pay mortgage, property tax, car insurance, mantain car, buy gas and pay toll.

No let's examine what I said and it overstanding behind it.

It is perfectly possible for one to live in Jamaica, earn a minimum wage and drive an SUV. Further is even plausible that one can live in Portmore, be unemployed and drive an SUV.

I have owned, bought and sold many cars the prices of vehicles is deeply discounted in the secondary market. So the price of an SUV can easily match the price of any vehicle up and down the scale.

The next thing Jamaicans living is the much talked about Diaspora remitted approximately US$1.2Bil to their accounts, the overseas employment programme is responsible for another Ja$6Bil in earnings. It would not be farfetched to imagine that a relative might receive an SUV or even purchase one out of money received from their foreign cousins.

I believe someone quoted the JA minimum wage in this topic. Minimum wage earners will not be driving their cars or SUV's across the toll road. Taxi fare will increase, and they will have to pay their portion is they choose to ride across the causeway.

I believe someone quoted the JA minimum wage in this topic. Minimum wage earners will not be driving their cars or SUV's across the toll road. Taxi fare will increase, and they will have to pay their portion is they choose to ride across the causeway.
