Sounds like the building I lived in growing up in NYC, minus the gate. When I was little you could just walk in, by the time I was 12, step by step, they added intercom, camera, etc.

Couldn't tell you. My police precinct growing up had the second highest murder rate in the city so perhaps it was not unlike the areas of which you speak.

But again, i was responding to the idea of gated buildings with cameras and locks...not uncommon for a city dweller anywhere. I didn't respond to anything but that.

I won't make light of crime in Kingston, a city I have never visited. I responded only to what i responded to.

i saw the same errors in the map but a half-decent road map can show you the correct names of roads. grants pen and shortwood are the tiny reddish yellow dot somewhere along constant spring. it's there. btw... grants pen is actually not bad at all now. they killed out the troublemaking youngsters, put in an american funded community policing project (american chamber of commerce).. they even have police EMTs on call and a fine ambulance service. stuff like that has never happened in our areas. maybe we should consider this garrison thing too if we're to get anything from goj.

this is common knowledge for any kingston resident i imagine but it's the first map of its kind that i've seen on the net. i figured i'd do everyone a favour and let them know since i was once asked by a jamerican which streets he should avoid. i was like.. amm... that could take forever to list out... pictorally works better.

Look Wahalla there is no safe haven in Jamaica but to answer your questions. Some areas even though adjoining have not traditionally supported the conventional garrison. Even where the area has descended downwards from the Middle Upper Class bracket, there is still a level of respectabilty amongst its denizens, particularly since most are older folks who still own homes, other maintained by remittances and yet others are a combination of the two.

My area for instance has always been very peaceful but the proximity to the top garrisons have made it to go by this ranking a perinnial yellow blob.

Anyway they better get one for Trelawny, Clarendon, St James, PortLess and the rest of St. Cathrine...what are they waiting on?

I used to jog with my father from Washington Garden to Cremo while in primary school man mussi mad fi try dat now. Anything out a Cremo a certain time a ask fi get rob wid all them swamp up land. Acutally dem send mi uncle go H&L and bad bwoy cut off him shirt pocket out a Cremo deh, and this can more than 84 or so.

The map is useful but it leave out certain hot spot, Sherlock cresent in Duhaney Park is serious when the bwoy dem from Brooke valley come over. Kingston is a place if you dont grow up there and know runnings just avoid the points pon the map dem. Go Devon house, port royal, emacipation park and thats it. Also Papine got left out, I used to camp as a scout up by Kentiyah, man nice place with river and bush fi run bout, I would not try that now.
