Only lingering issue I have now is I was installing my secondary wireless printer, and I got an error msg about the virtual memory being too low. This the same issue I had on my laptop awhile back until I added more RAM.


I suspect that isny the issue with my desktop (2GB RAM) but maybe my settings for XP. Where would I go to change the amount of hard drive and RAM dedicated for the virtual machine? </div></div>

Increase the Virtual Memory to 4 Gigs.... but the best thing to do is to buy more physical RAM if your machine can support it.
Remember now the Machine is supporting to Operating System one existing Virtually in RAM.

MY Computer
Properties
Advanced
Performance
Virtual Memory.

Another thing I have to research is I think the both operating system should be setup to share specific amount of physical RAM so as not to crash the System, because one is going to be perpetually running in the Background I think.

Why not make a virtual printer file on you data drive, when you are ready to print to file, then slip out of XP to Vista select the file and print from there?

major frustration has set in again, and I have broken down and called my IT guy. He is coming tonight to sort it out because I am going to fling something against the wall soon if I cant get myself operational really soon.

BTW I did not know that you had connectivity issues in Vista I just thought you did not like. I was giving you the work around above to save you from installing drivers for every peripheral device.

Also did you uninstall the aborted version of the first Virtual Machine?

Yeah, I mentioned it in the post where you asked what my issues were. I have major connectivity issues hence my hatred of Vista. In addition, it is still very unstable with some of my programs.

My Nerds on Site guy is here right now and he killed the Virtual program and said MS's version is pure crap and to only use the orginal VM.

However, he says, and I do quote my wireless adapter is &quot;foo-bared&quot; - hence why I could not network or work wirelessly thru Vista.

Vista he says after the last service pack has had constant problems with this issue.

Here is my issues:

5. Too many connectivity problems.
a)all of a sudden it stopped connecting to my wireles
router and wireless printer (s).
I need to run cables
now which is difficult given how my office is set up.
b) no longer connects as a network to my laptop
so that I can share files easily.
c) it freezes and/or crashes endlessly while
I am working and I need to re-boot to sort it out.
d) still doesnt work smoothly with some of my work
programs. A couple of financial programs I still run
only on my laptop because they will not install
properly on Vista even with the patches given.

I don't have Vista but if you tell me the name of each program and the specific issue(s) and the devices that you are trying to connect then I think I might be able to help.
