I was never a vette fan, knew too many people who spent too much time & $$ gettin em fixed. They sho is purty tho!

Marnin QK and everyone....the caddy couldn't make it up my driveway that's for sure. The 81 Vette was a great car. It was around for some years and I can't remember it ever being in the shop. But there we were in the Rockies in a snowstorm in a little town on the edge of the storm and the x wanted to keep going even though there was talk of closing the roads to all vehicles not equipped with tire chains. I won that argument though, when across the road from the gas station where we were filling up was a wrecker service. On the back of the wrecker was a mangled Corvette that tried a similar trick a day earlier. The occupants didn't survive. Argument ovah.

It was big fun driving the Vette. You should have seen the cars move out of the way on the freeway when they'd see me coming from behind. You'd think I had red flashing lights on the thing or something the way people got the hell outa the way! Was big fun that.

I wish I could get the tourists that come here to move over like that. It's like oh good, summer soont over, the tourists will go home soon! Maneuvering around them is a real PITA. I'm not a patient old lady style driver at all...I like to get where I'm going please get outa my way! Probably a left over bad habit from my taxi drivin days. But then my drivers training teacher called me lead foot from waaaaay back when!

oh QKie.... girl after my own heart ... one of those kool Mustangs from the early days ... there was a few years when they quit being kool ... now I like the look of them again.

I hear ya tho pon the noise and other 'issues' ... I still rent one when I can just to 'scratch the itch' I have over them!! One Day ??? or not ?

When my brother in law died, my sister sold all his 17 Corvettes plus a bunch of parts. She kept a 63 for herself.

Old story from years ago...
...a man calls to check an ad in the paper for a 1 year old Corvette for $50. He calls and asks about it only to find out it was already sold. So he asks the woman what was wrong with it that she sold it so cheap.
She said nothing was wrong with it, it was in showroom condition with very low mileage as it was garaged all winter.
When he asked why she sold it for $50, she said &quot;My husband left me after 25 years and took off to Florida with his secretary. Last week he called and left a message to sell the 'Vette and send him the money... So I did.&quot;

HAHAHAHAHA!!! And that's how I got a purebred registered Arabian mare with a 3 million dollar daddy for 50 bucks back in 1985! The husband had to give wifey half the money! My boyfriend at the time was her breeder, so....Grammie Cracker was MINE! for 50 bucks!

I called her my Porsche.
