Tis mighty cold on the tundra. yesterday it warmed up to a balmy 6 above but today supposed to hit the teens. A week ago that would seem cold but now it will almost feel warm after the last few days! I might go back down by the lake and look for ice today...

Marnin Seveen and everyone! Happy Monday! The weather here is frightful to some of you. Highs of 1 degree today and another slew of cold till Thursday!

The good news is, my new snowblower is getting delivered today!

Good morning Tickytocky! Jerk chicken sounds good! Maybe that's what I'll fix for Christmas dinner this year. I've got a little barrel smoke grill that does a nice job with charcoals.

Yes that is a frozen waterfall! It's Gooseberry Falls, that is the middle falls. Here is the bigger picture...



Not much snow in northern Minnesota yet so the hiking was pretty easy. Just a little bit of ice to navigate while walking on the frozen river.

I was hoping to see the ice climbers out but it sort of looked like they aren't allowed any more.

It's a good thing my new snowblower is arriving today. There is a winter wonderland out in my yard again just a few inches though. Windchill -18 right now. I've got my longhandles on!

i make jerk chicken all the time - put it on the grill with some alder wood chips, cook it slow and smoke it

then add my walkerwood jerk sauce to taste

reminds me of jamaica - but the sun, sand and sea are missing
