true confession - I was honestly disappointed that I didnt get a chance to chill with Jazz on this trip. Although she well rude and thing(the first thing out of her mouth when I called was, &quot;yuh want a bax&quot, I do like her a great deal and did want to get to know her in person

We did get a chance to chat a little bit on the phone, so that will have to do for now

Fuss of all wen Nylah call mi de fuss time - mi was well confused... WAN PEECE AH SPEEKY SPOKY!!!

I was like - Immigration finally ketch mi!!! \o/

When I finally realize dat it was her - I had to speak S-L-O_W so she could understand me (cause by then I was well into my yawd mode an ah pere patwa mi ah defen) all mi hear is Pawdon, pawdon, pawdon

aay sah - so wen she ah reach Ochi side - mi ah lef fe country... the family celebrated our parents 60th wedding anniversary... and I invited her to join us... an she say she ah go look into few tings an call mi back

WEL@!!!! - mi nevva hear fram har agen so till the night before I was scheduled to leave... So I did give her an earful



Anyway - She did sound like good peeps - we had a few laughs and I was sorry we didn;t get a chance to link up - but I guess nutten happen before it;s time.

<span style="font-weight: bold"> Anyhoo,</span>I start to make my way to <span style="font-weight: bold">Kanopi House </span>hoping I get there before dark but of course that wont happen.

The drive was really pretty – of what I could see.

I had no troubles on the road. My friend kept me company on the phone but after a bit that wasnt such a good idea so he let me go.

I get about 47 km outside Port Antonio and hit a check stop.....See above for that encounter.



I make it into portie by dark but now I cant reads the directions that the hotel has given me.

I seriously had a really har time because the villa is quite remote - most locals have never heard of it - and the dark concealed the landmarks the manager told me to look for.

Long story short, I got hopelessly lost in portie and couldnt find me way out until I asked a couple to give me directions.....

I make my way out of portie and start to head down the bumpy road to Kanopi house. About ½ hourt later I find the remote villa. Bad thing is the main entrance is on a steep hill and my Nissan sentra could not navigate it. I started to slide down even after gunning it to get up the hill.

It was weird to slid around on terra firma that wasnt covered in snow

So I parked at the bottom ofd the hill and walk up. I get to the main entrance and Bob Marley is blaring from the speakers.

No wonder they didn’t hear me fighting with the hill.

I am tired, dirty and hungry and looked probably as pitiful as I felt.

There were a few young travellers inside the tree house drinking rum and red stripes.

I ask for<span style="font-weight: bold"> Carla </span>and this bubbly blonde dread woman with a European accent pops up from behind Michael. She gives me the biggest hug and welcomes me to KAnopi House.

I felt at home.

I was given a seat and immediately handed a rum and coke to wash the travelling dirt from my weary soul.

I met the other girls staying there. A trio of women from the south of France traveling thru JA for the first time. And another pair of girls from the San Franscisco area. The girls from California were quick to say they were Mexican and not American which I thought was really cute

Turns out that they were really fantastic ppl. And I was grateful for the company.

I downed a few drinks while chatting to the other guests in the common area. The dinner was served.

Jerk done with chicken and pork, couscous, broccoli and shrimp and fresh peas. And roasted breadfruit. Delicious.

We sat around afterwards chatting talking about their various experiences in JA.

Then decided I wanted to see my room and to get help while I still had it to haul my luggage up the many flights of stairs. Michael, who billed himself as the strongest man in the world (He is the &quot;before&quot; picture in the Before/After shots for Popeye ) couldn’t make it up stairs….he got the other French girls to help him with my luggage and they obviously had more arm power than him. :

aie sah, that was funny as hell

<span style="font-weight: bold">Carla showed me around the villa I was given – Spanish Elm.</span>

It is her favourite she says out of the 6 tree houses available. I decide that I am too tired and icky feeling to return to the main tree house. So I called it a night and settled into my breathtaking tree house.

<span style="font-weight: bold">There is no TV or wireless access here. Only a kicking Bose system to bump your tunes.</span>

I take a shower outside with the peenie wallies to keep me company. I felt born again after that shower. I decided to just chill and do some reading which I had done very little of the whole trip b/c I was just too tired to focus.

I slowly started to decompress from the long day I had. <span style="font-weight: bold">Life is good again.</span>

Here is a kinda dark video of the treehouse I stayed in. I couldnt find the location of most of the light switches.....

Excuse my stupid comment about the wood table Blond moment

The treehouses are pine - a type I couldnt prounouce much less spell...and the roof is made out of cedar, so the place smelled like heaven. All the furniture and art pieces are from the Portland area. They were specific about this fact.
