I am on that page too but when I saw these buildings, I instantly got a tug at my heart. I LOVE the old buildings with the zinc and colorful wood. Brings me back to my summer vacations in Portland

almost 30 years later and they are still there.

Well, egghead still hasnt forwarded my videos so I still need to finish the Somerset Falls and Blue Mountain Bike Tour portion when I finally get them.

In the meanwhile let me jump ahead again.

So after the Sunday soccer game, I did my favorite activity: sleep


Later than night C, G and I hooked up again to find one party to go to. I am not a big clubber but I like hangin out with them so I was game. Turns out niether of the boys wanted to be in a club, so we drove out to <span style="font-weight: bold">Black River</span>. I dont remember the man's name but he was some big time club owner in Black River who got shot a week earlier. So in true JA style <span style="font-weight: bold">Nine Night </span>had to happen in AND around his club
The party extended all up and own the street with 10 foot high spesakers planted firmly on the sie of the road.
I am just glad I didnt live in that area cause the noise level was crazy

I was going to pull out my camera an start recording but from the looks we were getting b/c we were new to the area I thought twice and put it back in my pocket.

The night was hot and windless, so all the bumping and grinding produced even more heat about the place

I just chilled and took in the night an all of the activites around me. I had some liquor in the trunk, so we opened the Banana Rum Cream and leaned up against the car to take in the night. Sangester's still coulnt make me smile like <span style="font-weight: bold">JaJewel's version</span> but it was likka in my belly same way

The following day I had to check out of Ivanhoe's and head to MoBay to pick up my brother. It was really hard to say goodbye to C and G C had to work but G had a footbal practice in Port Maria so he drove me as far as there.

We get into Port Maria and G and I tearfully, well okay only I was in tears, say good-bye.

True confession: Should NOT have been driving that day I had not eaten that morning because I just was TOO hot to eat I drank liquids but of course my blood sugar was plummetting. G started to debate about driving all the way to MoBay with me but I insisted he go to his practice and not miss anymore because of me.

As I sat in the driver's seat I glance to my right and I see G and his two friends looking at me with frowns on their faces Turns out G's friends cussed him out because they didnt think I should be driving at all. They were very right..... My blood sugar was so low I was having difficulty concentrating and that is when I would have trouble remembering again where the center line was and which side I should be on

It was a harrowing drive and I was 3 hours late picking up my borther because I took a wrong turn at one of the new roundabouts and ended up with a very scenic but long route to MoBay.

I finally get to the airport and my poor brother is moaning about the heat and everything else......


I was too grumpy to truly care I just announced that there was no blastid way I was driving now to Ochi and we are staying at JaJewel's. He opened his mouth to protest and then looked on my face and closed his mouth.

We had to stop for gas and I was so disorientated that I hit the gas pump Now it is obvious I am in real bad shape

Even though I had no appetite still, I knew I wouldnt make it to JaJewel's to eat. Burger King was across the way from the gas station so we headed in. I forced myself to eat the burger and downed a big thing of sugary pop.....I was famished but I just didnt have an &quot;appetite&quot; if that makes any sense. It took a concentrated effort to finish the meal but I knew I needed it.


My poor brother tried to make conversation on the drive but I just wasnt having it. My sole goal was to make it to JaJewel's in one blastid piece

Egghead gets to meet JaJewel and Mr. JaJewel for the first time and tour the place.



When we finally get our luggage in our rooms - we are in the downstairs 2 bedroom suite this time around - my brother thanks me for not listening to him....like I ever do He was loving the place and said he was happy now to have a day to cool out before we do the family thing.

Truthfully, that evening was a blur. I know JaJewel made us her famous <span style="font-weight: bold">Banana Rum Creme </span> We all sat around chatting into the evening. I have no idea of further details except for that I was relaxed and happy in my second home

The follwing morning Egghead an I take PeeWee to the beach Egghead was trying his best Ceasar impressions....dont think PeeWee was too impressed He was just exicted to be out and about the place!


It is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach in Duncans. Really pretty sand an sparkling clean.

Thanks for all of this, Nylah. I think I am getting my Jamaica mojo thing happening again. Lord, I love Portland. What a beautiful place.
