After a 4 hour dinner at Spanish Court, we decide to pass by QUAD. The music was good, but smoking is allowed. I didn't stay long, as soon as I found a walking partner, I was ready to go. But not without a detour for Friday night pan man chicken.

Saturday is my last full day in Jamaica. What better way to spend it than a day at the beach. Ft Clarence beach it is.

There was a wedding on the beach that day. The bride was 3 hours late, but when she arrived she was beaming. Her groom was all grins too.

Eating, sleeping, drinking and taking in a wedding. What a day at the beach. On the way back to Kingston, we make a detour to Caymanas.

I love that place, wall to wall men. And nothing beats the excitement and animation when the horses come down the final stretch. It was late in the day when we got there, so we only took in a few races.

I didn't place any bets. It was just enough to soak in the atmosphere. Next time I go, I am going to tape the shouting used to bring in the horses.

After the track, I'm hot and tired. But not too tired for Devon house. This was a double cone of rum raisin and grape nut.

I thought about going out Saturday night, and it was nothing more than that....a thought. I showered and napped, then walked across to Emancipation Park. There is a take out joint on the little side street behind the park. The effort required to take photos was too much for me. A day at the beach, and the first day of sunshine drained me.

I ordered jerk pork and festival. The pork tasted fair to fine, and it wasn't hot. The festival was good though.

For the past couple of days, I had been trying to get in touch with nephew. Finally, on Saturday night I make contact. He is still as cute as ever.

Saturday night I packed, watched TV and made it an early night. It was back to Florida Sunday morning.

Thanks for the pics & report of the part of Jamaica I never seem to get to. I loved the lobby lamp that was made in Jamaica plus most of the food looked nice....sorry about the dissappointments in the food department. I really enjoyed your trip!

yu do 'town like me ... I have alwyas wondered how the sea water at the beaches in 'town feel different than the water in negril...the waves are more powerful and much saltier than negril .. I love the waves bouncing me around ..and love to see the Jacans out with thier families enjoying each other and the food and vibes ...totally different from north coast and Negril. Emancipation Park is a great place to ppl watch also.Last yr , I went downtown and sat on the sidewalk watching the women having the weaves and wigs done . dem so creative and funny as hell, if yu know how fi approach dem. Dem have some wikkid lunch spots d/t too near the Art gallery and the Institute of Jamaica. Thanks for taking us along.

One of my many dreams unfulfilled was to take my mother to the race track in Kingston,it would have been two dreams for me, taking her to Jamaica and taking her to do something she would have LOVED. I never got a chance to , and never have seen it,so thanks for the glimpse Pepper.
