Hey mo_fire! Things are great but a bit too busy. Waiting on some fall colors which have already started a little, and looking forward to long winter days sitting by the fire, meaning things will slow down! I am still in utter disbelief how much likkl_mo has grown so! Just yesterday she was a baby! She's a doll! Good job!!!!

Mo_Fire I read this quote tonight and it made me think of you and Lil Mo
<span style="font-style: italic">"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."

Oh Bandanna... How wonderful!!
I love it - and reading it just gave me goosebumps because that is EXACTLY what brought tears streaming down my face at the Golden Summit of Mt. Emeishan (the pictures of the golden Buddha)... I love it, thank you SO much for sharing this. I am going to print it out and put it on the fridge. And I am going to head over to the library today or hit the net and see what else I can find about this writer.
Just beautiful!!
Now, for you, I will finish my post, and post Hong Kong today!
Thanks Bandy!!

Likkle Mo & I took the bus from Shenzen China to Hong Kong. This was our first glimpse (from the bus) of the HUGE shipping yards and industry that makes Hong Kong the #1 hub of the import/export industry in the world!
Re: Mo & Lil Mo - Final Part - Guilin (China) - Hong Kong
We stayed at the Metropark Hotel Kowloon (we splurged after going mostly low budget hostel-like accomodations for most of China)... it was awesome! Great part of Kowloon, and withing walking distance to lots of interesting places, and close to the main subway lines!
From the rooftop - where the pool was! I took this picture. There was another apartment highrise being built. I had seen documentaries about how they use all bamboo acaffolding in Hong Kong to built highrises, etc. But I never actually believed it. This shows it is true. And the workers actually shimmy up the scaffolding and work - it is CRAZY!!
To give you perspective, the rooftop pool was on the 22nd floor of our hotel. This was next door, and almost to that height.

Magic.. these next few are for you for the next time you are in Hong Kong! Remember how I was telling you that we had heard about the Goldfish Market?? Well, we found it. It was actually about a 20 minute walk from where we were staying, and so it was a good first day in Hong Kong walking the neighbourhood kind of thing to do. It was about 5 city blocks of fish and aquarium stores where everyone went to buy stuff for their ponds and gardens. They really take this pond/garden stuff seriously all over China and Hong Kong.
Anyway, oddly enough, it led right into the "Flower Markets" which were another 4-5 blocks of the most wonderful fragrances and shops of orchids, lilies, flowers of all kinds and again, plants for ther ponds and gardens!
And to top it all off, after walking down all of those blocks, we happen upon the "Bird Market"... again, another 2-3 block area full of ornate bird cages, birds of all kinds, crickets and bugs or feeding the birds, etc. Likkle Mo was in heaven with all the bugs and stuff!! She ended up buying a cool little babboo cricket cage which she has been finding pets for since we got home!!
All in all, this "walk through" the hood kept us busy, and our eyes full of wonder and amazement for the better part of the afternoon!! Check it out next time you are there. It was great!!
This was the one arrangement Likkle Mo wished she could bring home for Gramma!! There were some really GREAT and unique arrangements! Flowers are BIG business in Hong Kong!!
I was not able to take (or sneak) and pictures of the different birds.... they kept telling me that the flash would blind the birds - and well, who am I to go around blinding birds???
Re: Mo & Lil Mo - Final Part - Guilin (China) - Hong Kong
We hit <span style="font-weight: bold">"Ladies Street"</span> on the walk back to the hotel... it is your basic street market that sells TONS of knock offs for REALLY cheap!!
Likkle Mo by this point was getting a real bang for her bucks!!
