I was there when I was in London last september, went to the amazing Moctezuma exhibition. Not the first time I was in the British Museum. There is so much amazing stuff to see there, everything the Brits stole during their empire days. Well, at least I'm lucky to be able to see it all in one place.....
yes, they have some fantastic exhibits coming up that I would love to see.
it is interesting to listen to my younger cousins complain that they are bored and can find very little to do in London. I told them the next time I am there *I* will take them out with me and show them what their area holds. None of them have done the museums, etc. and just have no clue. But they were excited when I told them I would take them along next time.
It is sad really but so many of the black youths are caught up in this "postal code" business and wont leave their neighborhoods And nuff of them lose their lives over it too.

Hey Nylah ~ I was born in England in Thornton Heath,Surrey where I lived and migrated at the age of 19. I used to go to Brixton and Petticoat lane with my mum on Saturdays. One of the things I looked forward to the most was the patties in Brixton, they were delicious!!
Where exactly is Enfield Town? Housing is really expensive in England always has been.
I am a Clapton baby as you may have gathered from the thread but I left when I was a toddler.
Enfield is just north (?) of the city proper. It is maybe a 15-20min drive from the borough of Hackney but it seems like another world once you are there. More suburban with green grass and and trees which I love
Yup, housing is dear in England for true. Although prices have come down alot, it is still far more expensive than what I am used to in Canada. But I am gonna still keep looking

All the best to you in your search...hope you find something...
Gosh, I haven't been back to England since 1995....a visit is long overdue!
Hey, give yourself any excuse to jump over the pond </div></div>
Yeah my sisters and I would like to take my parents back for a visit....they haven't been back since we migrated in 1987...but unfortunately they're not too hearty....

Well, there's a gazillion things to do in London, but I guess you need the money for it too......
But hey! Even a trip to Covent Garden on the tube and a coffee on a terrace for people watching is great. Besides, you've got the street performers too. Always something to see there.....
I kinda disagree. There is lots to do in London that doesnt cost money. All of the museums, etc are free so that isnt a hinderance.
Getting off the tube and exploring a new neighborhood by foot costs nothing more than the price of the tube which isnt an issue for them. And they dont ask their parents to drive them anywhere to check out new things.
It is about a <span style="font-weight: bold">frame of mind </span>that needs to be overcome amongst many kids I have seen. So many are caught up in the post code mentality which makes them think the world is no bigger than their own neighborhoods.

I understand you on that missis
It would be wonderful if they could make it back but travelling nowadays is taxing on the most hearty </div></div>
I can imagine....don't think mum's rheumatoid arthritis could withstand such an exhausting trip....shame... </div></div>
