Thanks JA Jewel I needed to hear from some others that what I was posting was of interest.

I may go to the ER tonight.....If not tomorrow morning cause this cough is getting worse. Buckley's isnt make a difference and I am afraid I may crack a rib at the rate I am coughing

I am starting to fret if I have pneumonia or bronchitis

I love the architecture of this area so I will bore you will the million pictures I took about the place













The famous Brick Lane. This is the only pix that came out even half decent. Now it is known for all the Asian restaurants and Bengali stores. The East End which was typically a white working class area has been transformed into a predominately Asian enclave: Bengali, Pakistani and Somalian.

Truman Breweries was one of the biggest and famous breweries in London. The East end once upon a time was known for the many breweries dotted everywhere. The brewery back in its day took up blocks and blocks of real estate in the area of Brick Lane. Just staggering how massive these breweries were. They were the top industry and source of enjoyment for the working class in the area.

Now with the change in population, most breweries and local pubs have closed down. Muslims dont drink alcohol....It is interesting that these things impact a place so greatly economically. Most ppl dont look that far into the future with these things. The face of the East End is drastically different for it



Mr Nylah gave me a great narrative of the shift but lord I have no memory at the moment. I'll ask him again later.

Also reminds me there are still a gazillion places I still have to visit in London - Harrods, Spitalfields and Petticoat Lane, Brick Lane.....

Had a chuckle at your photo of the bags of lettuce - having 10 types of lettuce/salad in the supermarket is the norm here. Ready made ones too, Caesar(sp?), Greek, etc.
But interesting to find out what other people think of as special when to you, it's the norm. Same as the tourists here taking photos of the cheese shop windows, for example, with the myriad types on display.

Yeah, I like food I like to try different things where ever I go. Mr Nylah is a vegetarian but he is at least keen to sample knew things here and there too

London really has a multitude of things to do and explore. I didnt even make a dent in my list, so that just means I need ot head back again soon

Random Street shots....well not really random, it is just that I cant remember where in Hackney we were when these were taken Not to far from Victoria Park in Clapton.







where we picked up the flowers for the anniversary party



A famous butcher is located in the same area - Ginger Pig. Old-fashioned butcher. I think one of two left in the U.K. now. Family run business that have 4 free range farms in the county of Sussex. They butcher meat right on site at the front, so if you are squeamish about seeing where your food comes from you wont handle it well



Bought some garlic sausages that my mum loved as a girl and some smoked bacon.

Highlight of the visit was my trip out to Chattham in Kent to see some of my family. Although the day was impossibly wet and cold, Mr Nylah and I had a fantastic time. I took a couple of short videos of the drive out there.

Our arrival in Chattham. I like the houses out there, so I took another video to show them. And there is green grass unlike in London

I did get out of the car in the drizzle to video a beautiful old church grounds. I like graveyards for some reason. I find them peaceful. although the church is in disrepair and not in use, the bells chime on the hour still. Really haunting feeling in the rain and fog that day. Loved it. Unfortunately, I shut off the video before the ringing bell started.

My cousin in law giving us a tour as best as she could given the weather, of the surrounding area from Chattham. We are outside Rochester. She is a horsey girl so she took us to where she keeps her horse in the hills.

Rochester Catherdal. I have more pictures of the inside of the church later. Built in penace by French monks for all the blood William I spilled during battle. I guess we all want to get into heaven

If someone would finance me, I would be happy to become a travel reporter

The last two areas of interest I will post about will be the remainder of my <span style="font-weight: bold">Kent trip</span> and then my trip out to <span style="font-weight: bold">Brixton market.</span> Enjoyed that immensely especially since most peeps were saying that it wasnt worth the effort. We spent a good few hours in that area.

I did spend the day in the <span style="font-weight: bold">British Museum</span> but I think I will make a Flickr stream of pix for that. I took almost 200 pictures of things inside the museum and I dont know if I am up to posting all of those pix or deciding which ones would be of interest to ppl here.

We got thru part of the South American civilization section, and then spent alot of time in ancient Egypt/Nubia and ancient China. Yeah, better to do a Flickr link to all those pix rather than posting. So that are interested can take a look.

The problem with taking pix in the British Museum is that most things are behind glass so you have to deal with that. Plus the lighting isnt too strong overall in the place. I would assume to protect many of the old artifacts.

Gloomy drive thru the Blackwell Tunnel (runs under the River Thames) and onto the M2. Oh, wanted to mention that this same route will take you onto Dover and then on to France (via the Ferry).



Since this was our first trip out to Kent we took a longer route than needed. We turned into Rochester when we could have bypassed the town. Not that it really matter to me, I was on vacation
