Vannie - no we didnt stop this time to eat in Harrod's hall. I wanted to do the sushi and oyster bar but my mum and my cousin Pat wont touch the stuff. I need someone who will eat the same things as me

I dont know about the first 3 things but I had the best Fish n Chips yesterday at<span style="font-weight: bold"> George's fish n Chips Bar in Enfield Town</span> I had Haddock and Mr Nylah had Cod. And I got to have my malt vinegar with my chips Really popular spot in the evening so we went early afternoon to enjoy. The owners are Greek....much like most Fish n Chips stores nowadays. Greek or Chinese. Back in the day you would have never seen a Fish n Chips place owned by anyone but the English. But now most are and they do a good good job of it. At least the Greek owned ones do, IMHO.

Ms Exced - thanks :hug&quot;: I just got in from the market again. We had dinner and walked around the place a bit. Not too many vendors during the week although many were setting up for the weekend.

I visited my favorite old world grocery store which is accros the street to buy some more rum and raisin fudge Really terrific stuff.


I also wanted to let the owner know that Ihe didnt kill me the other day I told him I had a nut allergy but we got to talking for 15 mins so when he offered me a chocolate sample he forgot what I said earlier. I started to react BADLY to the nuts - couldnt breathe...BP dropping etc. and the poor man was so upset with himself.


I had my epipen with me but didnt want to use it quite yet because if I do I must go to the hospital afterwards. So he directed Mr Nylah to the nearest Boots pharmacy on Liverpool street. They have doctors on site there. I was weak by time I got there but after taking an antihistimine and sittting for a good while I was okay.

That was a bit scary though and poor Mr Nylah as afraid he'd have to tell my mum he killed off her daughter

So when I stepped back in his store the man hugged me up in pure relief He was genuinely worried for me and was wondering how I faired. He appreciated that I came back to tell him and gave me some beautiful Italian chocolate and cherry jam for my troubles

He even implemented a new policy for samples that he instructed his staff about yesterday because of what happened to me

I'll post pictures of the grocery store in a bit. He deserves to recognition because despite of what happened he was a really nice man.

After that I didnt have the energy to walk around, plus it began to rain, so Mr Nylah drove around the Warf areas and pointed out some historic sites in the Liverpool Street/Spitafields area. Again, will post pix later with info. He is a right proper tour guide.

I eventually began to crash hard and couldnt keep my eyes open so back to my auntie's house I came, and now I am just resting for a bit.

Just waiting on my cousins and dinner now. <span style="font-weight: bold">Stormmey will be happy with the oxtail being served but I am optioning for the chicken with my rice and peas instead</span> </div></div>

Havent hit a pub yet on this trip cause this house has nuff liquor all the time to supply a small army but I will think of you when I have my next drink with supper tonight

Well, I am back home but I need to take the next 2 or 3 days off work cause I have one hell of a cold/flu/bacterial infection

Cant even hear out of my left ear at the moment. I mean completely deaf in it. And I cant speak more than 2 sentences without coughing up a lung The plane trip was pure hell cause my eardrum wanted to pop

Cant sleep cause my cough is keeping me awake So I'll do a bit of posting.

Just for the record, I am not going to do any marathon trip report like I did last summer cause I dont have the energy to replicate THAT again I am only going to post the highlights of my visit to London and do a bit of narrative here and there.

The trip started out like every other trip I embark on.....me not sleeping for days prior to departure so I can get work off my desk and packing last minute Thank God I am a quick packer but mum did a lot this time for me otherwise I would have gone without more than I did already

Since it was an evening flight, I planned and did manage to sleep all the way there. I woke up maybe an hour before we landed at 11:00am. Just in time to freshen up. Air Canada was great. They got everyone thru smoothly and the arriving flight, as was the departing flight, landed a head of the scheduled time.

I wouldnt normally travel to somewhere like London in the bleakest month of the year but it was my auntie and uncle's <span style="font-weight: bold">50th Wedding Anniversary </span>and their kids were throwing them a huge party in celebration. Since few marriages last that long let alone black marriages, a celebration was definitely in order.

When we landed the sun was shining but that was not to last It was snowing/raining by time we got home and I think I saw the sun maybe 3 days out of the month I was there

My cousin P and her BFF since childhood came to pick us up at Heathrow There is something sweet about seeing people you love for the first time after a long while. You just feel complete and connected to who you are. Again both these girls are in their early 50's and have been steadfast friends since they were young. They actually lookalike from all their time together

Anyhow, BFF C, heads out of Heathrow but doesnt know the most direct route from there to the borough of Hackney. This is just as well since it allowed us to do a premliminary tour of London's West End.

I love London in parts.....It is an exciting and interesting city but it is also crowded, dirty in some aspects, complicated and congested. The West End is one of those parts I absolutely love about London

Immediate tunnel leading you out of the airport and to the rest of the city.



Funky office building that I never did find out what it was.



Entering the West End...some of the most expensive real estate on the planet. Thee is a new condo building going up which I will post later, that the average price for a flat is around 40M Pounds...I would love to see who affords these things.





Entrance to the Museum of Natural History. We didnt see this one but did go to the British Museum which we visit during the last week of the trip. Word of warning to those who have never been, make sure you give yourself an <span style="font-weight: bold">entire day</span> to explore the museum and wear comfortable shoes. We went in the afternoon and barely made a dent in all that there is to see.
