What is the purpose of Black History Month ???????

Is it possible to portray a snap shot of the full extent of black history in one month ? Would you say this is an insult to the black race? Is black people able to fully digest their history in one month? Why is it only black people have a history month and why not a Jewish history month? What is the real purpose behind black history month? Who really started black history month?

I am all for black people acquiring knowledge about their history so that they can be proud of their heritage and have confident and high self esteem. However as a researcher and black history enthusiast I am most interested is finding out nothing but the truth. My initial research have led me to conclude that the origin and background of ' black history month' warrants further investigation.
These are a 2 questions that I would encourage readers to consider?
1.What is the purpose of black history month?
2.Is black history month beneficial to the black race?

Background

What we now call Black History Month originated in 1926 and it is claimed it was founded by Carter G Woodson as Negro History Week. The month of February was selected in reverence to Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln who were both born in that month.

Carter G Woodson the son of a slave and was born in New Canton, Virginia on December 19, 1875. He began high school at the age of 20 and then proceeded to study at Berea College, the University of Chicago, the Sorbonne, and Harvard University, where he earned a Ph.D. in 1912. It is a well documented fact that top universities were and still are a breeding ground for secret satanic masonic societies. For example the infamous 'Skull and bones' society was founded at Yale university and has members such as George Bush senior and junior.

What was Carter G Woodson's Mission?

But who was it that set up Mr Woodson? Why was he so readily accepted by the white elite establishment in 1926? What was the motive behind black history month? Carter G Woodson became well known for his infuamous quote, “When you control a man’s thinking, you do not have to worry about his actions. You do not have to tell him not to stand here or go yonder; he will find his proper place and stay in it. You do not need to send him to the back door. He will go without being told. In fact, if there is no back door, he will cut one for his special benefit.” Carter G. Woodson was a member of the Boule and Omega Psi Phi secret society and received financial provision from the Carnegie, Lord-Spellman, and Rockafella Foundations to help his education programs. The so called founder of black history month was funded by Rockafella who along with the Ford motor company supported and funded the Nazis and also the Eugenic programme in America to sterilise black people and cull their population. So now I ask the question. Who is the real founder of black history month? Certainly not Carter G. Woodson as is well documented, in fact he is called the’ father’ of black history month.

Woodson was a close friend and confidant of the founding member of the New York City chapter of the Boule, W.E.B. DuBois, who said the Boulé was created to “keep the black professional away from the ranks of Marcus Garvey.” DuBois preached “the importance to steal the black professional away from Garvey. During the 1920s, Du Bois engaged in a bitter feud with Marcus Garvey. They disagreed over whether African Americans could ever be made equals and fully accepted into American society (the view held by Du Bois). Their dispute got so bitter that Du Bois wrote, "Garvey is, without doubt, the most dangerous enemy of the Negro race in America and in the world. He is either a lunatic or a traitor." Garvey described Du Bois as "purely and simply a white man's nigger" and "a little Dutch, a little French, a little Negro, a mulatto, a monstrosity”. So the Boulé who was the remaking of the ‘house negro’ was necessary to build a group of negroes who had an investment in protecting the white system of a biiger slice of the and keeping teh black masses in thier place. Woodson was a member of teh Boule and a part of this circle and was the second African American, after W. E. B. Du Bois, to be awarded a doctorate in history from Harvard and the first person of enslaved parents to receive a PhD in history. Both Woodson and Du Bois attended Harvard university.

"An excellent fund-raiser, Woodson received major support from white philanthropists during the 1920s and early in the 1930s to support his program of research and publication".".

Lets take another look at Woodson’s quote above and then you may be able to begin to answer my initial question. Is black history month beneficial to the black race?

It is claimed that Carter G Woodson founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History in 1915 to train Black historians and to collect, preserve, and publish documents on Black life and Black people. He also founded the Journal of Negro History (1916), Associated Publishers (1922), and the Negro Bulletin (1937). Woodson spent his life working to educate all people about the vast contributions made by Black men and women throughout history. I am led to believe all the above bodies were never founded by Woodson and he was just used as a 'front man' acceptable to the black race because of his academic background and that the white philanthropists and people like Rockafella are the ones pulling the strings. Here we see white philanthropists including Rockafella having control of the collation, research, publication and education of black history and this is very dangerous. Can the black history that is written by Woodson be relied upon? This is the version of black history that is out there being used to promote black history month?

Conclusion

So much of history is lie and based on the information that I have researched and presented I am led to believe that Rockafella being so Influential in the publishing of black history has twisted it to suit the white establishment. What will set black people free is education and enlightenment to be empowered to diligently search for the real truth of black history instead of being deceived. In Black History month they won’t tell you that black people's biggest problem is black people and that they need education. They won’t tell you that black people is a broken community long before slavery and must support one another in business and form sustainable black communities that provide security and stability for the younger generation. Instead of dealing with the internal problem, what black history month focuses on is the external issues such as slavery, racism and highlighting black achievements and inventions that came after slavery. What black history month does give black people get a false sense of civic pride and assurance which does not reflect our poor position in today's society. What is the point in focusing on slavery and post slavery achievement of black people when you have black on black hatred, grudging each other, enslaving one another with drugs and killing one another? We have to deal with why we treat each other this way and why we seldom support black businesses. They are no black communities with black owned banks, schools, super stores etc and yet we are one of the world’s biggest retail consumers. If black people were to focus on purging their internal problems, would they not be then united and better equipped to deal with any external problems? Could black history month be a concept that detour the focus of black people so that they will never face up to the hard truth about themselves and deal with the root causes of their internal problems.

Black History month start in the middle of our history and tend only to focus on events where black people came out of Africa into slavery and out of slavery came these black inventors and academics as if slavery has done such great things for us. If you ask the average black person to give you a summary of black history almost all will begin with when we came out of Africa into slavery.

Black History month never focus on black history long before slavery where there were great black empires/civilizations, great Kings and Queens. The fact that all the principles of government and social infrastructure along with mathematics and architecture are still in use today were founded by black people in Africa , while in Britain they were living in caves. Rockafella and his cronies fund puppets like Woodson so that they have most black people thinking that it was white people that educated them so that we have these inventors and academics that came out of slavery. They always celebrate these same old post slavery black achievers every year to keep black people thinking that they would never have been great without the white man. Black history month tell black people that they have made it through the hard times of slavery and look what they have achieved when in fact they have achieved nothing because the gross disproportionally few achievers they are celebrating are all dead. Every year Black history month contribute in keeping most black people mentally enslaved and they just don’t see it, because they are already under the white man's spell, where their thinking is being controlled, as commented by Woodson in his above quote highlighted in blood red.

I never see the Jewish people who control most of the world's wealth having an ‘Holocaust month’ or ‘Jewish History month’. The world most powerful men are Jews like the illuminati Rothschild banking family who control a major slice of the world wealth and are related through marriage to the Rockafellas and could easily fund programmes such as Jewish History month, to highlight the plight of the Jews in the holocaust and create awareness of Jewish History once a year. Ask yourself why they dont.
Black History Month (BHM) Britain is in October and they claim the aim is to

• Promote knowledge of the Black History , Cultural and Heritage Disseminate
• information on positive Black contributions to British Society
• Heighten the confidence and awareness of Black people to their cultural heritage
All the events are funded and facilitated by the local authorities (Council). Would anyone hire a dog to bite them?

The Choctaw, who sided with the Confederacy during the American Civil War, held Blacks as captives from warfare. When they adopted elements of European culture, such as large farms and plantations, they also incorporated the system of chattel slavery of people of African descent.

Slavery was abolished by the Choctaw Nation in 1865. Per a treaty signed with the U.S. in that same year, the Choctaw were required to admit freedmen – Blacks newly emancipated from slavery – into their tribe.

The Creek also adopted the enslavement of Black people. Most of the enslaved Africans were owned by wealthy and prominent men, many of whom wielded considerable political power. Black people were forced to worked primarily as agricultural laborers, cultivating cotton for their masters’ profit and food for consumption.

Seminole

The Seminole held some Black people as slaves; however, a unique relation evolved between them and enslaved Africans who had fled to Florida to escape slavery on white plantations. Many Black people found a comparable form of freedom among the Seminoles and they were allowed a form of sanctuary in exchange for paying an annual tribute of livestock, crops, and military assistance.

In general, the Blacks never wholly adopted Seminole culture and beliefs, nor were they accepted into Seminole society because they were not considered Native American. They typically lived in their own independent communities, elected their own leadership, and could amass wealth in cattle and crops. Black Seminoles were also able to bear arms for self-defense.

The Minoans Ancient Greece

Archaeologist Manfred Bietak conducted extensive research on ancient Greek civilizations and their connections to ancient Egypt. Bietak unearthed evidence from artwork as early as 7000 B.C. that depicts the early people inhabiting Greece were of African descent.

The Minoan culture of Ancient Greece reached its peak at about 1600 B.C. They were known for their vibrant cities, opulent palaces and established trade connections. Minoan artwork is recognized as a major era of visual achievement in art history. Pottery, sculptures and frescoes from the Minoan Bronze age grace museum displays all over the world. Palace ruins indicate remnants of paved roads and piped water systems.

On March 3, 2000, historian Runoko Rashidi gave a lecture in Honolulu, Hawaii, about the presence of Black people in ancient and modern India. He stated that the face of India changed around 2000 B.C. when nomadic people Indo-Europeans or Aryans traveled to the Innis Valley and other fertile locations in southern India.

Prior to the invasion, Blacks in India built rich and advanced civilizations. Author Wayne Chandler recanted his amazing discoveries about Blacks in ancient India in his book “African Presence in Early Asia.” The remarkable cities of Harrappa and Mohenjo-daro are only two of the many cities built by Black people. These cities cover large regions of northern India and modern-day Pakistan.

Ancient Mexico

The Olmecs were an ancient civilization in the Americas. Researchers such as Rashidi, Ivan Van Sertima and Alexander Von Wuthenau have discovered and shared evidence showing that the original inhabitants of Mexico were of African descent. The Olmecs were no different from people found in the Mende regions of West Africa.

Best known for carving the colossal stone heads that date back to 1100 B.C., more evidence of their existence before European explorers has been found. The Olmecs built pyramid-like structures made of mud in Mexico. They were also very artistic and created terracotta art that displayed common activities like pottery-making and wrestling. To add to their achievements, the Olmec people developed a calendar system around 3100 B.C.

Shang Dynasty of Ancient China

In a genetic study published in the “Proceedings of the National Academy of Science Genetic,” researchers found evidence showing the first African arrived in China about 60,000 years ago. Researcher and population geneticist Li Jin states, “Our work shows that modern humans first came to southeast Asia and then moved later to northern China. This supports the idea that modern humans originated in Africa.”

A 2009 published essay from the “Light Words from the Dark Continent; A Collection of Essays,” by Nibs Ra and Manu Amun, offers insight to early Chinese civilizations. It states that the first documented governance in China was headed by the Shang or Chiang dynasty in 1500-1000 B.C. King T’ang or Ta, founder of the Shang dynasty, was of African descent. The Shang were also called Nakhi, which literally means “Black” (Na) and “Man” (khi). King T’ang and the Shang dynasty were responsible for unifying China to form their first civilization.

Ancient Mesopotamia

Many scholars have concluded that the founders of the first Mesopotamian civilization were Black Sumerians. Mesopotamia was the Biblical land of Shinar (Sumer), which sprung up around 3000 B.C.

After deciphering the cuneiform script and researching ancient Mesopotamia for many years Henry Rawlinson (1810-1895) discovered that the founders of the civilization were of Ku****e (Cu****e) origin. He made it clear that the Semitic speakers of Akkad and the non-Semitic speakers of Sumer were both Black people who called themselves sag-gig-ga or “Black Heads.”

John Baldwin wrote in his book “PreHistoric Nations” (1869): “The early colonists of Babylonia were of the same race as the inhabitants of the Upper Nile.”

This was corroborated by other scholars including, Chandra Chakaberty, who asserted in his book “A Study in Hindu Social Polity” that “based on the statuaries and steles of Babylonia, the Sumerians were “of dark complexion (chocolate colour), short stature, but of sturdy frame, oval face, stout nose, straight hair, full head; they typically resembled the Dravidians, not only in cranium, but almost in all the details.”

Earlier this year, the film 12 Years A Slave — a searingly brutal accountof the helplessness of 19th-century slaves in America’s Deep South — swept the “best picture” category at the leading Hollywood award ceremonies.

Now, a new film made in Britain will tell the story of the remarkable relationship that may have lain at the heart of the abolition of slavery on this side of the Atlantic.

It centres on the 1st Earl of Mansfield, the most influential Lord Chief Justice of the 18th century, and the woman he helped to raise — Dido Elizabeth Belle, the daughter of a black slave woman.

The film was inspired by a portrait of Dido that shows her with her playmate, Lady Elizabeth Murray, a great-niece who was also in the care of Lord Mansfield.

At first glance, the picture, which hangs in the Mansfield family seat of Scone Palace in Scotland, appears simply to show a young English lady and her slave.

Yet it is the fine taffeta gown and jewels of the dark-skinned girl that tell a different tale and provide the merest glimpse of Dido’s extraordinary role in history.
Dido was born in 1761 as the illegitimate daughter of a Royal Navy captain, John Lindsay, and a black slave woman brought to England on board his ship.
When Lindsay returned to sea, he placed the little girl in the care of his childless uncle, Lord Mansfield.
Dido was raised amid the splendour of Kenwood House in Hampstead, north London, Lord Mansfield’s weekend retreat. Remarkably for the times, when Georgian England was dominated by rules on class and colour, Dido was treated almost as one of the family.
The film, Belle, makes the striking claim that Lord Mansfield’s fondness for Dido helped to shape both his views on race and legal rulings that paved the way for the abolition of slavery.
The director, Amma Asante, said: “I think it would be disingenuous to believe her presence in the house didn’t have some impact on him. It makes for a fascinating story to think that his love for this child opened his eyes.” Belle stars Tom Wilkinson and Emily Watson as Lord and Lady Mansfield. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who played Ophelia opposite Jude Law in an acclaimed production of Hamlet, has her first starring role, as Dido.
Dido was taken in as a playmate for Lady Elizabeth Murray after her mother’s death. The girls were constant companions and received a similar education, but Dido’s position in the household was complex. She was dressed in the same fine silks as Elizabeth but not allowed to eat with the family at formal occasions.
Nevertheless, her presence at Kenwood shocked society. One visitor, Thomas Hutchinson, the governor of Massachusetts, noted in his diary: “A Black came in after dinner and sat with the ladies, and after coffee, walked with the company in the gardens, one of the young ladies having her arm within the other.
“[Lord Mansfield] calls her Dido, which I suppose is all the name she has. He knows he has been reproached for shewing [sic] a fondness for her.”
Lord Mansfield commissioned the portrait of Dido and Elizabeth, attributed to Johann Zoffany, the royal artist, in 1779.
A postcard of it caught the eye of Damian Jones, the producer. “I was astonished to see this completely ambiguous portrait,” he recalled. “Were they friends? Were they sisters? Was one a servant? You couldn’t tell.
“I think it’s fair to say most portraits of the period do not feature black people, unless they’re obviously servants or slaves.”
Lord Mansfield ruled on two landmark cases that were to change history.
In 1772, when Dido was 11, he ruled that it was illegal for a British owner to forcibly take his slave abroad as “property”. Nine years later, he ruled on one of the darkest episodes in Britain’s colonial history. The crew of the Zong slave ship threw more than 100 African slaves overboard in order to claim insurance for “jettisoned cargo”. But in a blow to the slave traders, Lord Mansfield threw out the claim.
The case provided fuel for the anti-abolitionist cause, which succeeded in ending Britain’s slave trade in 1807. It was abolished in 1833.
Dido married her father’s legal apprentice, and moved to Pimlico.
Lord Mansfield’s will contained the note: “I confirm to Dido Elizabeth Belle her freedom.”
Dido’s last traceable descendant, Harold Davinier, died in 1975 — a white South African living in the era of apartheid.

Sailor in Disguise

William Brown (birth name unknown) was a Black woman who joined the Royal Navy as a man. One story is that Brown was born in Edinburgh, joined in 1804 and served at least until at least 1816, even after Brown's birth sex was discovered in 1815.^[1] More probably she was from Grenada and only served for a month before discovery.
The Annual Register of September 1815 reported:


“Amongst the crew of the Queen Charlotte, 110 guns, recently paid off, is now discovered, was a female African, who served as a seaman in the Royal Navy for upwards of eleven years, several of which she has been rated able on the books of the above ship by the name of William Brown, and has served for some time as the captain of the fore-top, highly to the satisfaction of the officers. She is a smart well formed-figure, about five feet four inches in height, possessed of considerable strength and grat activity; her features are rather handsome for a black, and she appears to be about 26 years of age. Her share of prize money is said to be considerable, respecting which she has been several times within the last few days at Somerset-place. In her manner she exhibits all the traits of a British tar, and takes her grog with her late mess-mates with the greatest gaiety. She says she is a married woman; and went to sea in consequence of a quarrel with her husband, who, it is said, has entered a caveat against her receiving her prize money. She declares her intention of again entering the service as a volunteer."^[2]

Brown [is] the first known black, biologically female individual to serve in the Royal Navy.

126 years ago on 13 May 1888, Brazil abolished slavery. Here's a bit of info about an uprising led by African-born slaves and how slaveholders fostered division among African- and Brazilian-born slaves.

The Muslim Uprising of 1835[edit]

Main article: Malê Revolt
The largest and most significant of these uprisings occurred in 1835 in Salvador, called the Muslim Uprising of 1835. It was planned by an African-born Muslim ethnic group of slaves, the Malês, as a revolt that would free all of the slaves in Bahia. While organized by the Malês, all of the African ethnic groups were represented in the participants, both Muslim and non-Muslim.^[5] However, there is a conspicuous absence of Brazilian-born slaves who participated in the rebellion. An estimated 300 rebels were arrested, of which nearly 250 were African slaves and freedmen.^[26] Brazilian-born slaves and ex-slaves represented 40% of the population of Bahia, but a total of two mulattos and three Brazilian-born blacks were arrested during the revolt.^[25] What's more, the uprising was efficiently quelled by mulatto troops by the following day of its instigation.

The fact that Africans were not joined in the 1835 revolt by mulattos was far from unusual, in fact, no Brazilian blacks had participated in the 20 previous revolts in Bahia during that time period. Masters played a large role in creating tense relations between Africans and Afro-Brazilians, for they generally favored mulattos and native Brazilian slaves, who consequently experienced better manumission rates. Masters were aware of the importance of tension between groups to maintain the repressive status quo, as stated by Luis dos Santos Vilhema, circa 1798, "...if African slaves are treacherous, and mulattos are even more so; and if not for the rivalry between the former and the latter, all the political power and social order would crumble before a servile revolt..." The master class was able to put mulatto troops to use controlling slaves with little backlash, thus, the freed black and mulatto population was considered as much an enemy to slaves as the white population.^[25]

Not only was a unified rebellion effort against the oppressive regime of slavery prevented in Bahia by the tensions between Africans and Brazilian-born African descendants, but ethnic tensions within the African-born slave population itself prevented formation of a common slave identity.
