Ok, so what you are saying that this is strictly for cocaine transport?....not ganja use? Common sense tells me the human body is ill equiped to transport ganja for any real money making profit.
Some of which you say makes sense and some does not. The packages ingested would have to leak into the body for detection. If this happens the mule has more to worry about then a pee test. Yes? No?

Ok, so they aren't really testing for drugs per-say but, for &quot;drug packaging&quot; by the testing? I did not know there was such a test.
Is this something that has been around for some years? Or is this new?

I thought that they would test with one of those over the counter urine strip drug test that you can purchase at a pharmacy.

if u will note, the article i took the chubble to post from di Gleaner is dated 2002...it mention di swab an odda technology...so we can assume dat yaad was using dese measures since at least dat date...

also can tek it dat dese measures been available fi awhile fi yaad fi ketch up to using dem having got some money ....

mi sure if u do a search u wi find more info on wat is being done re interdiction of drugs...being a known transhipment point Jamaica is getting nuff advice as to wat dem need fi do....as usual, first world blame di supplier widdout doing someting bout di demand...an yet dem know dat demand is wat create di market in di fuss place...gone r the days wen a man juss plant a bakyard garden fi self use an fi frenz... an mi not even a go chat bout coke cause wi not know fi growing dat yettttt

in 1989 I had a similar experience at Norman Manley. After I came through the initial customs check point where they check your hand luggage, empty your pockets, etc., I was called over by a woman police officer who took me into a small room and started to pat me down. I told her that I just went through that &quot;pat down check&quot; and she told me this was different and that she was looking for drugs. I then became very mad and asked her if she believed that I would live in NYC for nearly 15 years and come to JA to buy drugs when I could easily purchase what I wanted in NYC. She told me that I don't look like I lived a fareign - she say she has a profile and that I fit the profile. OK, so I had just had major surgery; lost about 35 lbs and I was not wearing the &quot;in&quot; clothes. I raised almighty hell and asked for an officer from the Embassy to be called. She called her supervisor who came over and told me that I did not looked like someone who lived in NY so they let me go but they alerted immigration in MIA and when I arrived there my luggage was x-rayed going through customs and then hand searched. I nearly miss my flight to NY. All they found was an avacado and fred fish. These things happen to people at airports all over the world every day. I get the feeling that JA should not search tourists because they depend on the toursit industry (I remember when we depended on the banana and sugar industry too). If dem can search me den me no see no reason why any baddy else caan get search. Immigration @ JFK hold my friend because she had the audacity to stop and use the bathroom to change her baby diaper before going through immigration. All countries have their rules and if 'you' don't like it bite eh.

Thank you for the information and of taking the trouble to post as much. I did take notice of the date and the swab. I'll re-read it. I must of missed something.
