p.s. knowing how they did it and being able to replicate it in no way robs it of any of it's associated and well deserved awe, in fact, it reinforces it as far as I am concerned. I just think it is silly to make it out to be something it's not, which is some mysterious unfathomable phenomena. It's something I definitely want to lay eyes on one day, like the grand canyon, pictures can not do it any justice. When I peaked over the edge and saw it, I felt like I was going to hurl it was soooo deep.

LOL! Of course!!! You have half a car! The rest is simply a matter of what restrictions you are trying to falsify! In this case, they gave the Nova team a time limit, and they were starting from scratch as noted, they were <span style="font-style: italic">testing</span> theories. That is just it, you are making up the characterization and declaring failure with no real grounds with which to draw that conclusion, except the arbitrary time factor.

the fact is, they <span style="font-style: italic">could</span> build a pyramid, quite well, and if given the same conditions as what the ancients had, with the same resources, and same <span style="font-style: italic">time,</span> their pyramids would probably eventually rival if not surpass the old ones. you can no longer say that the egyptians built their pyramids using engineering techs that we don't know or use.

nah man, you can't view it that way at all...it is not like the Egyptians just broke out one day and said sh!t, you know what would look good right here? One big @ss pile of stones with 4 sides and a point on top! They had hundreds if not thousands of years to do it and practice and learn, as did all other monumental cultures...and in fact some of the early attempts weren't that great, isn't there a 'bent' pyramid.

nova just needed the proper conditions, the whole thing was 'just to see' if it could be done and to figure out some <span style="font-style: italic">practical</span> as opposed to arm chair theory as to how.

the reverse engineering argument such as which frankster raises only washes so far- if I gave you a wristwratch and broke it apart and told you to put it back together again, without the specific knowledge necessary of watchbuilding, you wouldn't be able to do it. We couldn't infer from that exercise that the person with the jumble of springs and sprockets was not intelligent.

This is an argument from ignorance, a logical fallacy which, ironically, we can say the Egyptians helped develop. </div></div>

Well it does not have to have been a day, could have been a night - but make no doubt about somebody must have said Yeow! this a good place to built one helluva building. It took less than a life time to build the pyramid and the same laws apply that people today learn in engineering and architectural schools.

If I went to school to learn how to make watches and got a few more people who have been making watches to work with me - WeLL we would most likely make a very Good copy that works....

An argument form what ignorance, Modern Man has 2000yrs of added knowledge than the Egyptian,in all fields of scientific study. Modern man can duplicate nearly every engineering feat of the ancient world and often doing it better with less time effort and material...except when it comes to the pyramid

They proved that GIVEN ENOUGH TIME, PRACTICE, AND RESOURCES, THEY WOULD FINISH A PYRAMID.

All they needed was more time. And the hilarious thing is, they were basically winging it. And pretty much got it done. Again, if they just had more time, they would have had a pyramid.

precisely they were testing a theory and they failed or barely succeed in accomplishing their theory which was to biuld a half of the actualy thing on a far smaller scale.

The resources were their.
and the time was their for the taking...if they so choosed. It is they who structured the experiment an by their own standards they barely succeeded.
